Every day I have lunch duty in the high school cafeteria so while I walk around and monitor things, I draw stuff.
I’ve been spending the first few weeks of summer going through the #middiesinthecafeteria comics and planning for a print collection. One fun thing about the project is how many unseen comics there are. Here’s one from the 12th grade field trip to the Air Force Museum in April.

Every day I have lunch duty in the high school cafeteria so while I walk around and monitor things, I draw stuff… this was a fun week!
The monoculture’s dead and gone but I was genuinely surprised to find how many of my teenaged students knew Jerry Springer and were aware of his passing today.
There’s so much media to consume in the 21st century, so many ways to consume it… and stuff slips from the public consciousness quickly… but the amount of kids I talked to today who were saddened by the death of the ringmaster of daytime TV insanity reminded me of a time in the past when young and old alike were all watching the same insane garbage, talking to each other about how insane that garbage was, and it seemed to be a lot easier to be on same page with your fellow man and woman about how bats**t things can be.
