Open starter 1

Belle could hardly contain herself. Even though the holidays had just past, she couldn’t imagine what could be in store for her. Since the holidays had just passed, she certainly never anything, but what with recent events, she certainly wasn’t about to turn down a surprise. She loved surprises.

Belle held her breath with her palms clutched over her eyes in anticipation and dared split two of her fingers apart to take a peek. “May I open them now…?” She inquired with bated breath.

Belle gained speed as the icy wind ripped through her hair, scattering it about her head. Her feet seemed to barely touch the leaves below her as she ran, the flimsy hospital gown nothing against the night air. She gnawed at her lip and cursed herself for not snatching better shoes, but her options had been limited. The only time she had to run had come.

Seeing the light fade in the distance, the brunette stole the opportunity to duck in a nearby bush, the branches scratching at her uncovered limbs as her chest heaved. She stared out into the distance until she recovered some strength, but froze when she heard breathing just a foot away.

Open: At the Castle

Her footsteps seemed to echo up the cold stone walls and pour down the worn stone steps as she raced down them. A chill scurried down Belle’s spine as she darted through each labyrinth to escape the memory of what she had just seen. It couldn’t be…

The voluminous skirt threatened to trip her, but her favorite flat slippers were on her side. The reflection of the warm glow of the fire finally peeked around the corner as she approached her destination, and she heaved a sigh of relief as the sight of the illuminated books that she adored welcomed her, and she threw herself in front of the fire. She was back in the library. Her library. 

Belle only wondered if he knew about it too.

The place was so vast and the room so dusty, she thought it was a fair guess. The brunette spent so much time there, she knew it would only be a matter of time before she was discovered there with a book in her lap. I’ll probably just have to clean it. But it was ok. She had already started…

And he was busy. Busy doing…whatever that had been. The shock of it slowly returned only to double her jump at the sound of a very loud knock at the front door.
