Hannibal is so great at using a viewer's own bias against them. It's so wild speaking to people who believe Will was some damsel in distress who was corrupted by Hannibal's influence, and not like a wolf among sheep who Hannibal simply recognised for who he was. Will puts himself on the top of the food chain by catching serial killers: he doesn't not kill people because of morals, but because they are small fry. beneath him.

Not only is he at the top of the food chain, Hannibal has to exacerbate his sickness in order to knock him off, turning Will's best weapon (his mind) against him. And even then, Hannibal can't even bring himself to deliver the killing blow.

“How would you feed if you were a vampire” reveals a lot about people

“Steal blood donations from hospitals and blood banks” = my personal favorite. They assume the process for this is simpler than dealing with eating people, clearly the most ethical.

“Stealing blood bags is more unethical than eating people” = surprisingly common take. Perhaps they hold the belief some people deserve life saving care over others. If stealing blood people donate anonymously that would keep both you and potential victims alive, then how is it unethical? Most likely, they read this take online and never really thought about it too hard just agreed because everyone else did. Very telling.

“I’d only feed off of volunteers”= has a deep set faith in a sense of community. Not only people that you trust to keep your secret but would put themselves in danger for you. That’s beautiful. Probably gay.

“I’d feed off of strangers but knock them out first, I’d just take a little” = the belief this is more ethical than stealing blood donations is fascinating

“I’d only eat bad people” = MASSIVE can of worms, requiring its own post. who do you believe deserve to die, how would you be sure of that, and how is this more ethical? This conversation is now about who you would murder if you could get away with it

Depends on the type of vampire you are tbh. If you can safely feed on animals that’s probably the solution. Go running through the forests helping to keep down the local deer population.

If not then do you need to kill your victims? Do you have poison to knock them out? How high is the danger of also turning them into a vampire?

There’s a shortage of blood donations already so obviously not that. If I’m taking blood without people’s permission I don’t wanna take the life saving stuff that’s already in short supply.

If you have to kill the victim then yes this now becomes who are you okay with murdering question.

If you can just take a little, volunteers will probably be in short supply realistically. Unless you can find people who are into that. Which you might.

Assuming you can’t find volunteers this now becomes a question of who you’re biting. You going for personal ethics of who you’re okay with inconveniencing, drama, or convenience?

Personally I’m going for drama. Breaking into mansions exclusively. Preferably on stormy nights when I can get it.
