The darkness of the island would have anyone new to Tenebris believing the sun never rose here. But to Hope, there was a time to rest, and a time to look around. Being a historian, even in unfamiliar territory such as Tenebris, didn't allow his curiosity to take a break. Just because he'd seen the woods and some ruins, there were still things to look into or even give a second look.
But rest was something the young Director avoided. He'd tried going back to the house he shared with the young but fiery Korra to get a little sleep, but sleep was always plagued with nightmares, the painful memories and unavoidable mistakes of his past always coming back to haunt him. Not that he wasn't used to little sleep, but forgoing sleep to finish paperwork wasn't the same as forgoing sleep to avoid the nightmares.
To take his mind off his restlessness, he stopped for a coffee in town before heading for the temple. Not many people went near it (then again, he rarely saw people out and about where he went), but maybe there was a thing or two worth uncovering. He kept his boomerang handy in case he needed it, and started taking a closer look at the small dragon statues on the exterior. The scales really did look authentic, which was why he was a little hesitant to touch the marble, but it was fascinating regardless. "Hmm...interesting...."
