âWell good for you being all honest and shit.â Bex had no ill feelings toward him, no, but she also had feelings and that was a no no. She never could afford to get too attached. Running was her best bet in the end, though clearly she had done some harm.  She ordered herself another drink, a little strawberry number, and sipped it when he was speaking again. âGot to do something with this pretty face donât I? Whatâs your profession now?â
âYou should try it sometime.â Rhys snapped back a little too quickly as his gaze quickly dropped and he forced his eyes to focus on the glass he was holding tightly in his hands. Taking a moment to himself, the paramedic downed the beer before signalling the bartender for another one as his eyes still avoided looking directly at her. âYou could do so much more, but you already know that. Same as it was before, Bex. You know, paramedic and everything that goes along with it.âÂ
ileanavasile:
âUh, yeah well, considering I wasnât really saying it to you, I feel like I can declaââ As she spoke, Ileana turned around; her light hues not focused on anything before landing upon the sight of an expected and familiar face. Catching sight of the male caused her to pause her speech and drop her jaw in shock. âMy God⌠fate sure does have a weird way of playing out.â
âFate. Or I heard it through the grapevine that you were here and figured it was time for a little catch up.â he responded nonchalantly to the imp that he hadnât seen in almost a hundred years; she had seemed to enjoy Rhysâ company --- Rhysand, not so much. Â
lcxieruiz:
ââ Lucky for you, and this other person, it hasnât yet reached horribly wrong. But itâs definitely going to need a bit of work before itâs properly running again.â
âAnd I will repay you in any way that you want for doing said work. If thatâs what youâre offering, otherwise I might be screwed.â
greyson-roberts:
âWhat can I say? Itâs all in the writing.â
âAnyone ever told you to read between the lines?â
hopehasfallen:
âI donât think itâs bold at all, every ballerina knows Natalie Portman didnât do all that dancing in Black Swan. The basic stuff? maybe but any intense technical moves and all the close ups of her en pointe were definitely a double.â
âThink I was giving her the benefit of the doubt for the most part, but youâve just gone and blown all of that away. Didnât realize I was talking to such an expert; would have kept my mouth shut otherwise.â
christian-shaw:
âHey, at least Iâm not the only one.â
âMaybe thereâs some sort of newbieâs anonymous that we can sign up to; meet some people.â
sigrid-carmikael:
âLike you havenât said it a dozen times beforeââ the 20s were overrated.â
âI havenât said that once in my entire life. If I recall, the Twenties were ---- prohibition, flappers, sneaking around. Donât tell me you didnât have a blast.â
blair-dimitra:
âBold statement? This beer sucks. Thatâs nothing outrageous.â
âAccording to the menu its been voted the best beer around five years running. So yeah, I consider that a bold statement.â
kxrenza:
âNothing wrong with saying I hate hockey, buddy. Iâm not all the way patriotic Canadian. I could shock you some more, by saying I hate maple syrup, unless itâs from Vermont.â
âThe maple syrup comment is definitely shocking and now Iâm struggling to believe that youâre Canadian. But Iâll also bite ---- whatâs so different about Vermontâs syrup?âÂ
grahamxharper:
âRightâ so you think bacon soup sounds good?â
âAnything bacon sounds good to me, especially coming off of a fourteen hour shift.â
caelxmercer:
Cael coughed to hide his smile, âWho? Me? I was just saying â Do you have to dress like youâre from the 90â˛s?â
âYes, you.â the Imp stated while pointing his index finger at the warlock while sighing slightly to hide his amusement at his friendâs comment. âThere has to be better things to complain about, Cael. My fashion choices are low on the list.â
lailarenaud:
âI donât know what else to tell you,â Laila replied, sipping at her drink. âBeerâs fuckinâ gross.â
âFucking gross.â he repeated her words as he laughed breathlessly before taking a large sip of his beer. âSeeing as my first drink of choice has just been ridiculed, whatâs yours?â
bexley-adger:
âOuch, I deserved that one, sure. Youâre pretty salty these days, huh?â Bex clicked one more time on her game before laying her phone down and turned her attention to him. Didnât matter? Well then. âPlaying the secrets game. Cool cool. You should totes come by the scarlet moon.â A jab in her own right knowing she had voided the job prospect at some odd point or another. Not all men liked the thought. Especially not when she had been his girlfriend at that point. Oops.
â ---- You did, but Iâm not going to sound like a broken record; just had to get that out.â he told her as his drink finally arrived and so Rhys wasted a few moments drinking deeply, savoring the taste of the beer before setting the glass down as she shot one right back; apparently some things never changed. âThis isnât exactly normal and when I came here for a fresh start, I thought it would be just that so give me a moment ----- so, thatâs what youâre doing with your life then, huh?â and no, he wouldnât hide the clear disappointment that laced his words. Â
âYou canât just declare something like that and expect me to say nothing. Pretty bold statement.âÂ
bexley-adger:
Bex knew him, without a shadow of a doubt. Smug bastard. She had done the deed and ditched, but with a few more emotional attachments much to her dismay. God, why had she done that? Right. For Pax. Stability. Shit. âI know who you are,â she quickly pointed out. âQuestion is, how did we both end up in the same shithole small town? If you bring up fate I might have to punch you, Rhys. And for gods sake sit down-you looming makes me antsy.â
There was the smallest of frowns that seemed to appear on his features as the imp moved to sit himself down beside Bexley before turning his attention over to the bartender for a moment. At her question, well, he shrugged slightly while waiting for his drink, only slowly allowing his gaze to drift over to where she sat. âNeeded a change of scenery and hey, youâd know all about that, right?â of course he was going to take a small dig considering the circumstances and hey, at the time it was just another person, playing the same role; at least now he got to play the victim. âYou know --- actually, no, it doesnât matter.â

@imprhys
A good cold drink after a nights shift at the scarlet moon was sooo called for. She was enjoying while playing some silly game on her pone when she heard someone clear their throat. âHold your horses-â Lifting her gaze, she swore she might have toppled out of her seat. Ah, fuck. She knew she would run into his sorry ass at some point, but now? There he was with that sexy hero hair of his and she was trapped. âShit, itâs you.â
Three weeks at playing human and Rhys was already lost to it. This is how it went, and already scattered around town were people who he had assumed different identifies with, and yet the mortal shell of Rhys Terrella was the one the imp so effortlessly slipped back into. It was this version of himself that had at one point in time been in, well, a relationship with the woman who he spotted sitting alone the bar; Red Creek never failed to deliver. âRhys.â he replied under the weight of a small yet polite smile, hands stuffed in his pocket as he looked at the woman who had actually left him back in Ohio. How strange. âOr have you forgotten my name already?âÂ
