"I almost forgot how much I hate winter..." Mable muttered to herself as she walked down one of the Kalos Routes, rubbing her bare hands together. "I need to invest in some new winter clothes..." All she had on her at the time was a turtleneck, jeans that were far too thin for this kind of weather, boots, and a rather cheap jacket.

Lupe strolled beside her, brushing up against her master's leg and hoping the faint heat radiating from her would warm Mable up a little. Mable smiled down at her slightly, scratching the hellhound's head.

"Ah, my little living furnace. What would I do without you?"

She breathed a sigh of relief when a town came into view. A town meant a pokemon center.

She broke into a speedwalk once she got close to the building. Walking inside, she glanced around at other people taking shelter from the cold.

Sighing and opening her jacket a little, she walked over to a mostly empty waiting area, plopping down in a seat at the very end. Lupe sad down on the floor, resting her head on Mable's lap.

"Well, I guess it's nice to see Lysandre and I aren't the only Flares still out there." she said in a deadpan voice, staring at the other with a hand on her hip.

"How've you been farin', Grunt?"

Olympia chuckled and waved a hand dismissively, “Oh it’s no trouble, as you can probably imagine we’re both very used to canine dark types by now.” The Meowstic remained unmoved, unblinking, staring at Houndoom in the way only its pre-evolution would do better at. 

She smiled when the Weavile went to sit on Houndoom’s back, which made the gym leader smile, “You have two lovely pokemon there. Though they appear unused to a… calmer setting.” She remarked absent mindedly.

"Oh, right. Well, I used to keep the girls in their pokeballs all the time with the exception of battles." she reached down and massaged the base of one of Lupe's horns, prompting the dark pokemon to wag her tail. "I'm tryin' to change that, but it looks like they'll still have a ways to go."

She wanted to say something, but her mind was still processing that her leader was back.

He asked as he looked at the other as he walked over towards her a little and let out a slight sigh.

––{✿❀} The first to greet the female entering the gym was two of Erika’s assistants, a blonde holding an Oddish and a taller bluette with hair tied back. They both offered smiles, but it was obvious in their expressions that they could tell something was different about the person entering. However, they were much-too polite to say anything.

"I assume you’re looking for Lady Erika?" the bluette stated, allowing her gaze to jump around the room.

"She’s right up ahead. If you’re a challenger, she should be ready to battle," the blonde tuned in, the Oddish in her hands chiming its name before both girls walked off.

Beyond the entrance laid the kimono-clad princess, kneeling upon the ground with her Vileplume - seeming to have dozed off as usual. In fact, she didn’t even hear the footsteps of the female entering the battle area of the gym.

"Er... yyyyyeah! I'm here for a challenge!" she straightened her back with her hands on her hips. trying to appear confident even though she could tell by the girls' faces that they were suspicious. Since this was, indeed, a Grass Gym, it shouldn't be too hard. She had fire and ice on her side, after all.

Readying her two pokeballs, Mable made her way through the gym. Despite the type advantage, part of her was a little nervous since, in truth, Mable had never actually challenged a Gym before.

The ex-flare managed to get through the Gym Trainers without much trouble, and soon found herself in front of the Nature Princess herself.

She noticed her dozing and raised an eyebrow. "Uh, hello?"
