"Okay ka lang?" I said. She flashed me a shy smile, and by that I knew she was fine. It was the afternoon after she said yes to my proposal. We were driving to the cemetery as Diane wanted to visit Tito Peter and tell him the good news. I glanced at her, and see her lifting her hand up, admiring the ring I gave her earlier. "Sorry Diane ah! Pwet ng baso muna! Kinulang ako sa budget! Alam mo naman kakabukas palang ng Heaven Pampanga!" I jokingly blurted! "Dave talaga!" She playfully hits my arm the way she does when she thinks my joke is not funny but that she appreciates the effort. "...It's so beautiful," she whispers to herself which I overheard. I found myself smiling as I pulled up the corner of the street. "We're here." I tell her. I get out of the car and swiftly move to the other side to open the door for her. "Thank you, Dave." Gah. Her smile makes me melt so bad. She put her arms around mine as we started walking towards Tito Peter. "I can't wait to tell Dad," she said. Once we got to where Tito rests, she exclaimed immediately. "Dad, I'm engaged!!!" She looked at me. "Siya pala talaga yung para saakin." I smiled. "Hi Tito," I said, waving my hand. I felt a little silly. As if he was gonna wave back! "I promise I will take care of her." I said firmly. I wanted Diane to hear so she could feel that I was serious and that the commitment I made for deicding to marry her has began way before my proposal but from the moment I met her. "You better." Dianne playfully says in a deep voice. She was lighting candles and I could see her trying to hide her laugh. She was pretending to be Tito Peter. "I will. Don't worry." I answer, joining her little act. "You promise not to hurt her?" She asks, still using the deep voice. "I promise," I say, while slowly approaching her. Her head tilts upon me as I wrap my arms around her. "I love you, Diane."
