On the way home to Raleigh, we stopped to visit with a friend in S. Hadley, MA. After lunch she drove us to the top of Mt. Holyoke.

Our first night in Newport we ate dinner at the only restaurant on Lake Memphremagog. The food was pretty good but watching the sunset over the course of the meal was special.

After several days on the road, we put the bikes on the car and treated ourselves to a b&b in Newport, VT. This is the early morning view of Lake Memphremagog from the balcony of our room. The clouds are hiding mountains. The lake crosses the Canada-U.S. border. The cloud-shrouded mountains are probably on the U.S. side. I think the border is 5 to 10 miles north of our room.

Stealth camping surrounded by Fiddlehead ferns near Richmond, Vt. The stealth part was not especially successful. Over the course of an hour we were spotted by about half a dozen mountain bikers. Cold that night. I asked the phone what the temperature was in Richmond around 8 the next morning... 37° feels like 36°
