Results Team Giant-Alpecin at the worlds road race in Richmond: Tom Dumoulin 11th, John Degenkolb 29th, Luka Mezgec 48th, Simon Geschke 90th and Lawson Craddock 109th, Amy Pieters 46th.

After his race to 5th place at the World Championships individual time trial,Tom Dumoulin said: "Yesterday I was still struggling with an injury. But I still set the fifth-fastest time, which gives me a feeling of satisfaction. As a professional athlete you always want more, but sometimes you have to accept that more isn’t possible."

Marcel Kittel aims for good season finish

After a season of physical strains Marcel Kittel had another backlog last weekend by having to miss the Belgian one-day races Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen and Primus Classic Impanis – van Petegem, being not fit enough to race. We talked to Marcel, who now looks ahead aiming for a good season finisher.

“Team Giant-Alpecin raced to an incredible 5th place at the World Championships team time trial in Richmond, USA! With an average speed of 53,6km/h the team completed the 38.8km course in 43’11”.

Tom Dumoulin survived another hard GC battle on stage 16 of the Vuelta a España. He finished 27" behind the first GC contenders and maintained his 4th place in the overall.
