While the lounge was a very friendly and social place for the attendees, so much so that a certain mint-colored Gardevoir was smiling from feeling her chest glow amongst this sea of positive vibes, it wasn’t quiiiite enough to urge her to go around and meet new faces. As Lixue happily pranced around waving hi to these good Pokemon and making them feel as welcome as she does, Oriel could only muster up some sheepish waves with delicately undulating fingertips during her stay thus far.
Once a very familiar and relieving voice reached her ears, the Gardevoir perked herself up and turned herself around, eyes alight upon seeing Texas seating next to her. Oh thank goodness, she could hardly contain herself, clasping her hands and fingers together as she happily greeted the friendly and silly Cacturne.
“Texas…! Welcome, welcome…!” she started, her shyness almost dissipating in that instant. Before she could get a word in, her close friend presented a little giftbox to her. Eyebrows arching high, the seawind sorceress gently cradled it into her delicate hands, smiling at the present before gazing up at the other Pokemon.
“Oh Texas, this is quite sweet of you…! A-ah, hah, it’s actually, I come bearing something for you in turn…!”
Placing the giftbox aside, Oriel reached into her flowy sweater pockets and offered an oblong box to him, her smile hopeful, if also a little anxious.
“I admit I… I’ve worried about you a lot, especially with the new position you’ll be christened with in a matter of months… but then again, when don’t I…?” she forces a weak chuckle, a lame attempt at a joke to ease her own nerves, even if it was Texas. Bless her heart.
“This isn’t as, er, grandiose as the pendant I brought you before… but perhaps it could assist you in another way…? A-after all, being on such duty sounds potentially perilous… I certainly hope you like it.” As the box was given, a faint jingle could be heard within, followed with a faint echo that resounded a tender wave of water.
“Such a large box…” Oriel glanced down at it as she lifted it in her hands. It didn’t feel heavy per se, but it was definitely ‘full’. Ever curious yet polite, the Gardevoir looked up at Texas with the following inquiry.
“If, if it is no trouble to you, would it be alright for me to open this now, or…? … Y-you’re free to do the same with mine if you please…!”
Once given the cue to do so, Oriel smiled and mindfully lifted the lid, blinking her eyes as she pulled out the contents. As it was revealed, Oriel’s eyes widened and ears flicked with both awe and relief, as her fingers felt through the material.
“Ooh my goodness, this is quite lovely…!” she glimmered at the coat, gently holding it to her heart to take in its warmth. Almost like a kitten, she nuzzled her cheek against the fur, her earfins lowering contently to the sensation. Lest she was lost in it, however, she caught herself and glanced back up at Texas with a blushy smile.
“It’s as comforting as it is beautiful…! Texas, where did you acquire this…?”
