you are right about half man and from someone with a history of trauma from abuse of different kinds, I am so so glad you said it and with such confidence. also, I am 30 years old so... it's not like i haven't lived. sad to see a bunch of kids and irresponsible adults who should know better than those kids allow such delusion about their viewpoints to the point of romanticizing assault and yes - absolutely romanticizing it and missing every single point. (also, honestly? vile show. felt nauseous the entire first episode and actually got a bit sick by the time the first episode closed.)
Well, first of all im sorry that happened to you. being a victim of abuse of any kind should never be romanticised or be the punchline for jokes that are not only unfunny but completely and utterly ignorant of the experiences from those who actually have been through that. there's a fine line between using humour to ironise and minimise serious matters into sarcastic jokes and nowadays it feels like that line is getting thinner and thinner to the point where we cant tell what's coping with one's own pain and mocking that pain of others. im truly sorry there's still people like that out there.
and yeah the show can be triggering to so much extent. definitely not an easy watch.
i wish you well though. im glad my words resonated with you. be alright. nuch love to you.
