can you imagine rocky losing it the first time grace picks something up with his toes or like opens a door w his foot. which sounds insane as i write this out but like. if you’ve never picked up a piece of clothing with your toes you’re lying.

anyway imagine rocky being be so used to the idea that grace only uses two of his hands that when he sees grace using his toes to pick something up/uses his foot to nudge open a door (bc his hands are full) he’s all “WOW GRACE USE HANDS LIKE ERIDIAN! amaze amaze amaze!” and grace is like ???? what ???

then he’s like. oh. he doesn’t know i can do that sometimes. flashback to all the times he picked up clothes on the floor of his apartment w his toes just because he didn’t wanna bend down. he feels very validated. like, yes! someone appreciates how awesome it is that humans still have the ability to pick stuff up w their toes! of course it’s his alien friend. he goes on a tangent about human evolution and why we have said ability to grip with our toes exists. they have a blast.

except rocky keeps asking him why he doesn’t pick up more stuff that way. grace has to explain to him that humans don’t tend to actually pick things up w their toes and this is a weird grace thing that he does sometimes. rocky doesn’t care. he has questions. he wants to know the exact weight limit grace can lift with his toes. “hammer, question?” grace is tired.

rocky wants to see grace lift more things. grace makes a passing comment like if you were human you’d have to pay for that type of content buddy. doesn’t even think about it before he says it and immediately regrets it. rocky is naturally confused. grace doesn’t elaborate bc he already said too much and he doesn’t know where that came from and he is now bright red with embarrassment at a) the topic and b) having brought it up. he wants the ship to swallow him whole.

in case you didn't know, you can type "-ai" after your search terms in google and none of that gen ai shite at the top of the page will come up + you save that bit of water and power + you go back to being misinformed by google the old fashioned way: with pages of rigged SEO results ❤️ just to reiterate you can bypass/filter out the gen-ai results google search tries to shove down your throat by typing "-ai" after each search.

i think because of the whole "writers write for themselves" notion that's becoming increasingly popularized, people forget that we still thrive off interaction and kindness. i write for myself but kudos and comments and bookmarks and really any sort of interaction with my fics genuinely motivates me to keep writing and keep sharing my works.
