i know it’s a common theme to compare the geralt and jaskier dynamic to the shrek and donkey one especially the insanely similar ‘screaming at them to leave and not come back’ scenes but bro i fuckin MOURN that we didn’t get a reunion scene in s2 like at the end of shrek because come tf on

guys the blueprints were there we got so close with the ‘shut up and pay attention’ and ‘friends forgive each other but then FUMBLED in the endgame.

I was rewatching British films and realized that I had drawn my favorite wizard only once

Haven't done anything fan-ish in about a year. Sad to come back and find that The Amazing Devil filed a copyright complaint against my Horror and the Wild Witcher vid and got it taken down, especially since so many people told me that vid was how they realized Joey was in a band and found out about The Amazing Devil. I respect their decision, but I am disappointed.

Absolutely valid feelings, 100%. And I do not want to be overly confident in the accuracy of what I know about the youtube copyright system, but I have a friend who produces a lot of instrumental scores that have become semi-popular and used in several fandom-adjacent videos.

He has no issue with it whatsoever, even encourages it because it gets his music out there! But youtube’s recent devolution into AI practices has (again correct me if I’m wrong, this is going off my friend’s explanation) baseline “settings”that allow youtube to flag and automatically strike and even block/takedown videos based on ‘copyright infringement.’

For example, a song/score being used in a video not posted by the original owner. Thing is, my friend had NO idea that was a thing. He got a message about it from a fan who’d used his music and got striked for it. And he was understandably confused and upset on behalf of that person.

It could absolutely be that this video deletion happened because of intent on their part, and we should respect their wishes if it was their genuine request to have the video taken down.

But I just wanted to offer that story of my friend and his compositions because I feel like with how grateful The Amazing Devil has always been for fans spreading their work far and wide, I would be surprised if copyright claims like that were suddenly responsible for taking down works that brought their band into people’s circles.
