Midsummer!

Rather than being depressed about Brian Wilson, I'd like to celebrate the fact that someone with such severe mental health struggles made it to age 82. I saw him perform about ten years ago and he seemed a bit out of it, but really happy to be there. I remember at one point the crowd erupted in applause and he looked confused and went "You're... clapping for me? I can't believe you're clapping for me!" which of course made everyone cheer even more.

You made it, dude. You had a long hard road but you made it all the way to 82, and people never stopped wanting to clap for you and your music.

#oh I forgot to reblog this #but I think this is such a nice thing to say #I feel bad for Brian Wilson and the fact that he struggled so much #but I'm so happy it seemed like he had a better life in his older years #I watched this documentary about him with my dad it was made in like 2019 or 2020 and he seemed like his old nervous self #but he also looked a lot happier! ❤️#there's this part where Brian and the journalist are sitting in a car at a car park #and a vintage car parkes a few meters away from them #the journalist wonders what model the car is so Brian just opens the window and yells something like “The car! What a beauty! What kind?”#and the driver answers then Brian turns to the camera with a big smile and repeats what model it is 🥹🥹🥹#idk why but I thought that was such a sweet moment cause he just seemed so happy and relaxed! ❤️#brian wilson #rip
