âI know he seems a little freaky at first, but youâll get used to him.â He eased open her wings with her help and smiled reassuringly, knowing that walking and talking skeleton was hard for some to accept right away. Sanji recalled the eerie feeling he had felt along his spine when he first saw Brook. The dead were meant to be dead, but he was glad that they had the old bag of bones on their crew.
Brook had already explained, but Sanji thought he ought to do one better and give her a little more information. âHe ate the Yomi Yomi no Mi, and it let him come back. His soul got lost along the way, and his body decayed in the time it took for him to find itâââ
Sanji paused, letting the others speak. He, like the rest of the crew occupying the room, became baffled when Luffy said that her wings looked like meat. Out of habit, he made to lash out and kick the rubber-brain for being so rude. Teblielâs wings looked nothing like bacon! If anything, they were the essence of the sea itself; bright, blue, almost water-like. They still had a feathery quality about them and glowed like an angelâs would, but all he could see in them was his love for the ocean. Although, staring at her for so long, he began to see tinges of a soft pink that rose from her wings in the shape of small, popping hearts.
âHer wings donât look like meat, dumbass. Take it back.â Instead of kicking, he grabbed Luffy by the collar and pulled him over. Brook tapped his jaw with a finger and hummed.
âThey look like sheet music to me. How odd. . .â
Tebliel appreciated Sanjiâs gentle comments, starting to smile, before luffyâs comment sent her into to giggles. She hadnât met some one for whom her wings appeared to be meat! Food and eating must be pretty important to him. Though she did appreciate the explanation on the skeleton. His voice had a nice quality to it, and knowing it was devil fruit oriented did make the concept a ltittle easier to accept. Though she found herself unwilling to really look to hard or to long at him. He was still a Skeleton after all.Â
Nami let out a soft noise of disappointment, catching the game before Tebliel let it out. Chopperâs giggling also didnât help hide it, heâd gotten explanation while helping her with said wings.Â
âItâs my devilfruit, Iâm sorry.â Tebliel wiped a laughter tear out of her eye. âI forgot I didnât tell you, I also ate a Devil fruit, the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Seraphim. Iâm afraid whatever you could associate with angels, are what my wings look like.âÂ
She gently folded her said wings, avoiding the injured space. âI think I only told your doctor, it doesn't work to well when you have to dig into them.âÂ
Nami nodded. âyeap, that explains our captainâs sight then. Itâs nice to meet you either way Tebliel. Where did our chef find you then hm?âÂ
She easily took a space near Tebliel to talk to her, since she was clearly Sanjiâs guest, and now she just had to know why that was.Â
Luffy was about to fight back with Sanji that no her wings totally looked like bacon to him. He didnât upon hearing that A: they werenât real bacon, so he couldnât eat them, and B: to him they did look like bacon. Which really only meant one question remained for him. âWell, can I have bacon, Sanji?â
