Look, Ma! New Acquisitions!
We sought out fiction novels concerning Labor and Socialism in early 20th-century America. This topic is especially significant at Lehigh University. We are located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Our history is closely linked with Bethlehem Steel’s (which is now closed). To this day, the Bethlehem Steel Stacks provide an important backdrop for our campus.
“Big Steel” by Leslie Swabacker
This is a novel of the steel industry from the late 1800s to the Great Depression, shown through the eyes of a man who rose from being a common steel worker to a steel magnate. This book is uncommon, especially in the pictorial dust-jacket. It was published in New York by the Macaulay Company in 1934. This is a first edition.
“Bread and Fire” by Charles Rumford
This book is about the editor of a New York socialist newspaper who becomes a worker in a Pennsylvania steel mill and participates in the 1919 steel strikes. It was published in Boston by Houghton Mifflin Company in 1927. This a first edition.
“Riot” by W.E. Trautmann and P. Hagboldt
This is a very uncommon radical novel of unrest in the Pennsylvania and Ohio steel regions. It was written by W.E. Trautmann, the Founding General Secretary of Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). The events in the novel take place between 1902 and 1909. It was published in Chicago by the Chicago Labor Printing Company, though the year of publication is unclear. It is predicted to be 1922.
Our new acquisitions are the three novels pictured above. To complement the subjects, we provided old photographs and postcards of the Bethlehem Steel Stacks.
Hell no
But she’s stuck, and she’ll die if you don’t help! I’m terrified of things from the ocean, and I’d still try to help.

congrats to the guy fawkes brigade for trying to fight racism with misogyny. oh well. at least you tried.
Oh wow 😳
Ok so. From what I understand (by reading the Anon Message tweets) they will not be releasing the actual sex tape of her. They’re merely providing screen caps of her face that confirm it is indeed Iggy Azalea without posting any nudity whatsoever. They’re releasing this tape NOT because it is a random sex tape but because the tape **supposedly* provides concrete proof that she had sex with certain label heads for her deal and promotion. They claim that the sex tape implicates a much larger force at play (and given that it is a KNOWN FACT that Iggy Azalea’s first boyfriend who was / is a producer also helped her grooming and has copies of her original raps + sound) and I believe it. She’s already been criticized for the scandal involving iheartRadio [who forces radio stations to play particular songs at least 300 times a day] which contributed to the success of her individual singles without translating to album sales. iheartRadio is owned by Bain Capital, aka the multi-million dollar financial “management” company started and owned by Mitt Romney. I feel like this sex tape will make the connection between her success + iheartRadio / Atlantic records very clear. But this is allllll just my perspective with facts spread in between. All of the evidence supports a much larger and more insidious plan at play.

Interesting…
Oh my word
Slowly unraveling
wasn’t she underage though?
I have so many problems with this.
It’s just so extra and vile.
She’s a horrible person. We know that. There are so many other ways to expose her. A sex tape shouldn’t even be on the table.
This will only make white feminists cling to her more, make the white male constituents rally to her side and undermine everything black folks have done to expose her bullshit.
I don’t fuck with that bitch at all but I not all okay with leaking any type of photos or videos that has her in a sexually compromised position. That’s shot would not be right. I hate her fucking guts but I am a feminist and I wouldn’t be fucking pleased at all.
This will make her a martyr/victim. Don’t do this. Find racist ass text conversations or something. Find pictures of her in Blackface or whatever. Like…anything but this.
Fucking god damn it anonymous
This is one Anonymous account who is acting on their own behalf, not on behalf of every Anon.

enjoy, I love you!
I honestly can’t believe this right now. I was complaining to my bf about some Kotex tampons I had used, going on a bit of a rant about how bad they were, and on a whim I decided to go to the website and leave a review so other people who might get them would know better. I’ve never written a tampon review in my life (it’s not something I ever anticipated doing) so I had a little fun getting very passionate about my thoughts, and then went to submit…. Only to receive the words: ‘Your review text contains inappropriate language.’ I was confused at first, I mean I was pretty emphatic, but I didn’t cuss at all… and then I realized: I had typed the word ‘vagina.’
You can’t type the word ‘vagina’ on a TAMPON review because it’s considered inappropriate.
KOTEX, a company that makes OVER A BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR primarily selling products to people with vaginas, thinks that someone typing the word “VAGINA” in a review of a product that goes IN THEIR VAGINA is being inappropriate and needs to be censored.
I retyped “v*gina” with an asterisk like it was a swear word, submitted and it went to preview mode with no problem. But I’m still kind of in shock… Honestly, what is wrong with Kotex that they think they need to protect tampon users from the word ‘vagina’?
If you didn’t think our society’s fear of the vagina was absurd, here you go. It’s cartoonish.
BURN IT DOWN.

Hands down, end of discussion, no contest, the single shittiest phrase of the ’00s—even over “webinar.” “Hater” emerged in the ’90s, but it seeped its way into pop music’s bloodstream during this decade and shows no signs of going away. It’s the ultimate cop-out, equally...

Austerity Is Crap: A Brief History of the ‘#USM Future’ Protest Movement
Published on Mar 28, 2014
Written and produced by Asher Platts {http://www.youtube.com/user/ThePunkPa… } To set the scene: USM, like most public universities in the United States, was seeing annual tuition hikes, while simultaneously cutting faculty and staff, fighting back against staff unionization. Post 9-11, Democrats were obsessed with being the party of “fiscal responsibility” in order to win some sort of imaginary political messaging game against the Republicans, despite the Democrats holding control over all three branches of Government in Maine. Our “fiscally responsible” Democrats oversaw the giving away of tax dollars to business, under the pretext of jobs and growth. This lost revenue, with the addition of accounting errors in the Department of Health and Human Services led to a budget shortfall, which rather than addressing this budget shortfall through minor restructuring of Maine’s basically flat income tax brackets, Democrats instead led the charge to use the University of Maine System fund as their personal piggy-bank, which caused a budget shortfall in the U Maine system, which trickled down to the University of Southern Maine in the form of department consolidation, laid off faculty, and reduced staff. mammatus clouds, named for their resemblance to the mammary gland, form when air laden with big water droplets is carried to the top of a thunderstorm cloud whose altitude is cold enough to freeze the water droplets. the resulting crystals sink back down towards earth, collecting at the base of the cloud before they have time to evaporate. mammatus clouds are usually only stable for a few minutes.

She calls it ‘backwards logic’, tells me with a smile About that one white girl who was killed in South Africa for being white, Murdered by black men (who had been crushed beyond measure by an apartheid regime) "So you see," she says, "Racism goes both ways” My tongue is trapped, thrashing beneath the tidal wave of words I wish to unleash, but I bite it, suppress it, Quell the rage for a moment. You see, I know we all bleed red, but it’s not your blood coursing down the streets, painting cities and countries and continents crimson It is not your people who have been enslaved, colonised, suppressed, Hundreds of years of their history corrupted and destroyed (“Don’t get so angry”, she says, “History isn’t now”) But even today they are beaten down and force fed your ideals Whiteness is beautiful Whiteness is employable Whiteness is power Do not tell me that you can understand the sorrow Of a language dying upon my lips because it holds “no use” in a Western society Do not tell me that you can understand the frustration When our history textbooks shows us a sea of white faces, glossing over the slaughter of indigenous peoples in five lines Do not tell me that you can understand the weight of longing For a homeland and a different night sky, sun warmed stones beneath your feet and a loving grandmother drying out spices on the rooftop Do not tell me that you can understand the tears when This land I am standing on, born from, rejects me day after day, labels me ‘other’ although I am rooted in its soil as much as you Do not tell me that you understand these words- You will understand what a racial slur is when it is hurled at you like a projectile, shattering your skull and ringing in your ears by an old woman, too old to change, and again by a white boy, pretending he is one of the gang and again and again by a white girl, too sheltered by pale skin to even begin to understand the meaning of oppression Don’t tell me emotion has no place in this discussion, that the anger in my blood will not set this world to rights when we are “already equal” Let me tell you this: We can pretend the word “race” is taboo, and still be racist We can say inequality is over and still have oppression We can pretend that the death of a white girl all those years ago, is a racial crime without context We can pretend that the millions of my people dead are nothing more than a statistic, written in ink instead of blood. My friend, we can call it ‘backwards logic’ But that will never make it true.
