“I was asking if you believe in the afterlife….or anything similar.” Persephone says with a small smile. “My parents always used to describe it as going to the stars. So that’s how I think of it. I’m interested to hear other people’s perspectives, though.” Persephone is nothing if not open-minded.
He raises his eyebrows slightly at the question, although he does reply, after a moment of thinking. “Most instances of an afterlife include a higher power of some sort, which I don’t like, since that usually means you’re not really in control of your own life. And the idea of an afterlife is nice, but holds too many variables. Some people spend their entire lives working towards something ‘after’ when they don’t really know if it’ll be there, and that seems... kind of pointless to me. So I don’t, no. If it turns out I’m wrong, I won’t mind the ‘I told you so’ I’ll get in the afterlife.”
