I wanted “Russian Doll” to feel almost like an outro but to also just try to get as many bars out as possible. I feel like we achieved this through less of a percussive presence on the beat.

Tryna find a favourite bar in here is hard so here’s my top three from this tune.

1) “Masks on my heart now that shits gone cold, I’ve got versions of myself inside like I’m a Russian doll” 2) “Need ‘self care’ can’t work when the macs dead, Recording my thoughts is the only time I talk’ (Mac Miller reference, if you caught that one you’re a legend) 3) “notes into notes when I’m hot right?, But to get the cream I need to be off white”

JMB- “JMB BOUNCE” 

Lagos, Nigeria-based rapper/songwriter/entrepreneur JMB is back with a new single, “JMB Bounce,” that helps solidify her presence in the music game. The aptly titled track is an upbeat, club-ready jam that highlights JMB’s aggressive flow and confident demeanour, making her stand out from her peers. Bolstered by Teck-Zilla’s upbeat bass-laden bounce and anthemic brass stab with minimalistic arrangement, JMB sets the standard as she sends a call to action to the audience to get active. In the same vein, JMB asserts her dominance in the male-centred game with a no-nonsense approach, an expressive lyrical onslaught, and a mantra-like hook that beckons the crowd to join the fun.

“JMB Bounce” serves as the second single from her forthcoming EP, and it's the follow-up to her previous release “TMS (Talk My Sh*t)”

“NEXT UP ” Took a bit of a different approach to this one. Still tryna be clever with lyrics but much more focused on the rhyme patterns and schemes I could come up with here.

My favourite lyric from this tune is “Man made mounts imma reach peaks first, They say that our actions speak louder than words, but I was in a dark place so they were all I heard, but now I’ve seen the light so please do your worst”

Which is the reason the last three words are “Away With Words” The meaning for me is to escape through writing, but It also serves as a double entendre for “A Way With Words” which is something I like to think I possess.
