idk if this is just twt having little to no nuance again but the way people talk about ruben’s desire to be a father on there is so, like, weird to me lol. sure, it’s noble in theory that he wanted to have a son to be a better father than his own was to him, but i think ep 5-6 make it abundantly clear that him having children at all is a bad idea. no man that unstable and violent could ever be a good role model to his children; he definitely would have messed up his kid in other ways even if he never sexually abused them like how ruben’s father did to him. i don’t really get why people mourn his chance at fatherhood when it’s obvious he would have never been a good dad, even if he was great with the kids he was coaching(?) in ep 3. i guess it’s sad that his desire to be a dad was squandered by him being… himself??? but the way people talk about is as if becoming a father would’ve fixed him which is like completely untrue

eh, he doesn’t necessarily say that. he says more so says that he wants to do something grandiose (or something he perceives as grand) before he kills himself and/or dies. in a world where zero day isn’t a thing, he might’ve done anything similarly violent and then committed suicide. it wasn’t zero day specifically that killed him at all, just having his “goal” achieved

the thing is. the thing thats. the thing thats so devastating is that they genuinely do like each other soooooooo bad. when ruben doesn't make them fucking miserable about it. they could be so happy if society was not what it is. its. they just like being around each other so much. ruben almost killed a guy and he says one not even that funny thing and niall is zendaya laughing the whole ass pub down.
