*whispering in ur ear* hey did you know that stick bugs can regenerate limbs? and that some bees live on their own? and beetles walk and run funny so they cool off? and that pill bugs are crustaceans?
Every arthropod you've listed here is also a crustacean. Without the Hexapods, crustacea is a paraphyletic group.
Another way of putting it is that despite being undeniably crustaceans, horseshoe shrimp, clam shrimp, water fleas, fairy shrimp (including brine shrimp), triops, and remipedes are all more closely related to insects than they are to true crabs. Either insects are crustaceans, or crustacea as we know it doesn't exist.
It is the case though that pill bugs are more closely related to true crabs than they are to insects, so that's pretty cool.
I'm trying to make some 31edo ceviche for dinner does anyone on here know how to tuna fish?

Apricot XEN (1985) 🍑
Released in October 1985 and developed by Apricot Computers, the XEN series was designed to compete directly with the IBM PC-AT.
The Apricot XEN series included three main versions: XEN FD, XEN HD, XEN WS.
The Apricot XEN was powered by the Intel 80286 processor, depending on the model, the XEN came with either 512 KB or 1 MB of RAM.
The XEN FD model featured two 720 KB floppy disk drives, while the XEN HD included a 20 MB hard disk drive. The XEN WS, a workstation model, did not include disk drives.
It ran Microsoft Windows 1.0, showcasing early graphical user interface capabilities. The XEN was capable of controlling up to 16 stations, making it suitable for business environments.
Despite its innovative design and advanced features, the Apricot XEN faced challenges due to its lack of IBM compatibility.

I hope you Happy vote day.
Like and reblog if you were "happy voter" day 2024 :)
I worked very hard on the music I hope you like it and that you listen to it like haha what an anthem? get it? cause it's vote day?
This post has aged worse than anything else that has ever been made.

I wish that they would play this in full at funerals instead of "river flows in you."

Shwoops, unreleased piano composition from 2021
I wish they would play this instead of "River Flows In You" at funerals.
(demo for clarinet, piano, and NES. all instruments use alpha tuning centered at middle C = ~261.6hz)
in her 1986 release beauty in the beast, wendy carlos introduced “alpha tuning,” an alternative to the common western 12-tone tuning system.
rather than dividing an octave (the distance from middle C to high C, a 2/1 frequency ratio) into 12 equal steps, alpha tuning divides a perfect fifth (about the distance from C to G, a 3/2 frequency ratio) into 9 equal steps.
this diagram shows where the notes of each tuning fall relative to a typical piano keyboard. while both include middle C and G, every other note differs at least somewhat. in alpha tuning, major thirds (the distance from C to E) are flatter, and minor thirds (the distance from E to G) are sharper, but both still sound quite nice. on the other hand, in alpha tuning the octave (the distance from middle C to high C) is completely missing! it falls right in between two notes of the scale.
but alpha tuning has unique pitches of its own. my favorite is the 2-step interval, sometimes called a “neutral 2nd”. this interval divides the minor 3rd exactly in half, and has no equivalent in so-called standard tuning. it appears throughout the demo above.
today, many software packages support alpha tuning. for more on wendy carlos’ tunings, see her article in Computer Music Journal and the xenharmonic wiki.
I actually seek out this post on a weekly basis just to listen to that demo track. It's so freaking good
Heads up i guess. Bandcamp told me to announce my album that's going to release in a few days, so I'm doing that here.
I'm sure this is really going to guarantee my success and prosperity
I love convolution reverb, but THIS is just another STUPID and Bad demo
Warning: loud, choppy drums
Microtonal and polychromatic music make my mouth literally water in a good way. Some new stuff from Dolomuse on the Lumatone in 56 EDO (that's an octave broken into 56 subdivisions instead of, for example, the common western 12-tone scale).
This is at the mellow end of the "what you can do with microtones" field of play, ambient and delicious - and mouthwatering.
I love Dolores Catherino's music so much. She uses so many big, atmospheric chords with that ASMR-esque buzzing quality to them.
