Newest additions to my ever growing collection of movies.
Adding on to my earlier post by showing my recently acquired blurays. I have always hated needing to search around multiple streaming platforms in an effort to find the show or movie I want to watch. Even then, there's no guarantee that media will stay there, with licensing issues and the like. Last night I sat and watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind for the first time, and man was I missing out. Such a great movie, with some pretty cool BTS footage and interviews. I finished the night off by watching Thirteen Ghosts, another movie I hadn't seen yet. I'm glad to have watched it finally and enjoyed it's somewhat silly moments, accompanied by some pretty sick practical effects. One movie I am looking forward to adding to my collection is Obsession (2026). I know it is available for preorder right now, but I am holding out hope for a special edition or even a steelbook. I am a sucker for special boxes/slips and art. i have a few more movies on the way, one noteworthy one being The Descent. I absolutely love this movie, but the first time I saw it was on a just awful TV, surrounded by people talking to each other more than paying attention to the movie. I can't wait to experience it alone, in the dark, in silence, on bluray.
Starting off my first post by sharing some of the physical media I recently bought. Started off with the WiiU eariler this year after wanting to play Twilight Princess and Wind Waker HD. Then these past few months I have been into the N64, and playing the games on my Analogue3D. The Pokemon Stadium boxes are reproductions, but look great still. Physical media is a bit of a hot topic now with the news about Playstation planning on going digital only. I am a firm believer that if you buy a product, there should not be a fear that it will be taken away. I've been enjoying collecting games from my childhood, and knowing I can play them at any time. I think there is something carthartic about putting a disc or a cartdrige in, and just taking my time with it. Recently I played through Ocarina of Time (which oddly I had not completed before), and using the game guide along side of it was a great time. I went through and collected everything, with the exception of the bottle from selling all the Big Poes. I've since started Paper Mario, and I am journaling my progress as I play. Anyways, if you've found my blog and read this post, thanks! Feel free to share any of your own game collecting, or just what game you might be playing right now.
