The end of an era
Wellllllll after 4 years of living in Cantabria I have reached the all important decision that it is time to move on *yikes*. (Important, but I’m not sure if necessarily correct).
I have spent the most wonderful 4 years here and I can’t believe its been that long it only feels like yesterday I was doing my first blog post about looking for jobs!!
Anyway this is not the end of my Spain journey, allow me to explain. As many tefl teachers know there comes a point when you have to decide how to make a sustainable living out of tefl, or to call it a day. I have decided that in order to keep living and working in my beloved Spain, that I must study study study so I can qualify as a primary school teacher, which in turn will allow me to work in the British schools in spain. The sensible me knows this is a good move and it means more benefits (12 month contract, higher wages, career progression etc), while the irrational me doesn’t want to leave 😭
Also knowing there are no British schools in santander means I won’t be coming back 😟 😦 I guess my journey will take me south!
Here’s to the end of my first Spanish chapter. It was a good one and I learnt so much about teaching, cultures, relationships, language and about myself (cheesy) than I ever thought possible.
So two more months , better make them good ones!!
