“I’ve never understood that. The whole ‘high school is the best four years of your life’ thing has never made any sense to me. I don’t know about you but being constantly stressed about schoolwork, trying to maintain a GPA that’ll get me into my college of choice, doing every extracurricular I can find that’ll look good on my college applications, and trying to balance a social life on top of all that isn’t exactly my idea of the best four years of my life.”

“thank you, mother. i’m so glad you could send me to a school full of imbeciles and delinquents. this was my lifelong dream,” julie scoffs as she sits propped against the table at starbucks waiting for her coffee. “what did i do to deserve this? my parents are fucking idiots.”
Tegan glanced towards the girl sitting at the table next to her. The girl was talking to her mother on the phone and seemed to be pretty angry. Tegan couldn’t help herself and began to listen to the other girl’s one sided conversation. When she finally hung up, the other girl sighed and spoke out loud. Not sure if the girl was speaking to her or simply talking to herself, Tegan decided to answer. “God, I can relate to the whole parents being idiots thing.” She remarked.

“Males can be quite brutish these days, it’s quite sad really. Please tell me you ripped him a new one though? Although now that you mention sandwiches I am definitely beginning to crave one.”
“Oh, you can bet that I went off on him. I told him that maybe if he didn’t assume that women were dying to wait on him hand and foot he wouldn’t be hitting on random girls in coffee shops. Anyways I could actually go for a good old grilled cheese right about now. You wanna find a place that sells some good sandwiches?”
* . ° . » — brendan had been engaging in a conversation with yet another random stranger. he could go on about the weather, and to some: that would be peculiar seeing as students don’t usually pay any attention to it. after many lines back and forth, a shrub caught his attention form the corner of his eye. he furrowed his eyebrows confused as to why he had missed it. and with that, he walked away from the person without any hesitation or reason just to examine the plant. a grin had appeared on his lips as he looked closely. ❝of course, ❞ he chuckled. ❝ black dalea. how did i miss you ?? ❞ he wondered while lifting up the stems with flowers on them.
Tegan’s art teacher had instructed her and her classmates to find something on campus that was “connected to nature”. Naturally this led to the girl to find one of Elden Prep’s many perfectly manicured flower beds. Tegan had opened up her sketchbook to a pristine white page, taken out a pencil, and began to sketch the flowers when a boy rushed towards her with no warning. Taken slightly aback, Tegan flinched before realizing that the boy was looking at the flowers that she was sketching. “Wow, you’re really into flowers,” She remarked upon hearing his excitement at the sight of the flower. “Future botanist?”
“Okay, so I’m minding my own business trying to study for my AP Psych test and some random guy who I’ve never seen in my entire life comes up to me and starts asking me what a pretty girl like me is doing here. When I told him that I was studying- or at least trying to- he starts saying that I shouldn’t be studying and that I what I should be doing is making him a sandwich. Like, really? It’s 2017, haven’t we moved past woman in the kitchen jokes?” The brunette ranted to the other person, finally pausing to take a sip of her coffee.
