That post about death note being "everyone's first anime" (untrue statement) made me curious and now I want to gather data for science
Can you reblog this and tell me where are you from and what was your starter anime?

Head iseseisvuspäeva, kallis Eesti!
Today we celebrate Estonian Independence Day – 108 years since Estonia declared independence from that rotten Empire.
We celebrate because freedom is precious. Because independence is not, and never has been, self-evident.
But today is also a day of solidarity. A thousand kilometres to our south, Ukraine enters its fifth year of full-scale war against the same aggressor – the same oppressor that keeps repeating the same old idea: that some nations are allowed to exist, and others are meant to be erased.
We don’t believe that. We never have.
So today is a celebration, a reminder and a promise that we don’t look away when someone else is paying the price for their freedom. What Ukrainians are living through reminds us why independence matters and why it must always be defended.
Estonians celebrate our independence day and the freedom it represents. And we stand with Ukrainians who are fighting for theirs.
Estonia stands with Ukraine. Always. Because the only just outcome is a Ukrainian victory – anything less is a victory for tyranny.
Freedom is not abstract. It has real faces. It has real names. And it is worth defending.
Elagu Eesti! Слава Україні!
Reblog if you will never. Ever. Use AI in your writing.
I haven’t written creatively in several years. Blocked up/no surplus energy/no good ideas/bad headspace/whatever. No excuse.
If it came down to either continuing the slump, or making good money, gaining notoriety, and having fans by using AI?
Fuck that. Even if nobody were ever the wiser, I would know, it would wind up killing me, and I’d be better off. I’d rather never write again than be a dirty plagiarist that needs a tool to do the plagiarism.
I will be accepting no counter-arguments or comments at this time*, don’t @ me, you can go to your grave angry about it.
*yes, “just start writing again” is a valid exception, I’m almost ready, I think.
the Soviet Union "aestetics" and symbols should be treated the same as the Third Reich
the Soviet Union was a REGIME that KILLED its own people, murdered MILLIONS. and because the Soviet Union just happened to be on the winning side of the WW2 (oh and don't forget the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact) doesn't mean it should be treated any differently.
then you see the modern russians (not some elderly people but young 20+ who have access to the internet) — the arists\musicians\game devs etc and what do they do? they WORSHIP it, trying to make it only about the aestetics and erasing the fact of what really happened during that period
it's literally what russia is doing right now — tries to bring the Soviet Union back, and russian youth support it
and if you still don't understand what I'm trying to say here: just imagine a modern German with a nick "third-reich-whatever" romanticizing The Hitler Youth
Media literacy hot take and I’m not sure some of you are ready for it:
if a fictional character is russian and lives during Russia’s military aggression against another country, and the work never addresses their thoughts or position on that war in any way, it automatically reinforces an already existing space where russians are not expected to reflect on the criminal actions of their state or their fellow citizens.
At the same time, it reassures russians — through foreign media — that the world also doesn’t see this as their problem.
If you believe that giving a fictional character a stance on their country’s military invasion "isn’t important", or that “there’s no reason to bring it up” because the story is just about their everyday life, then it’s hard to expect anything more responsible from real people.
“This is just a story about the struggles of an ordinary german dude during World War II — without touching on war or nazism, because he’s just a civilian and his personal life is already difficult” — i hope the analogy speaks for itself.
So please, don’t forget: while fictional films are being made about russians, documentaries are being made about the victims of their country.
gonna show people my authentic self soon. just as soon as I get it perfect. soon. any day now I'll be good enough to open up to others
and you don’t even get to nut :/
You know technology literacy is dying because I saw this meme with 76k likes
F11 the full screen button? You’re scared of the full screen button? F10?? It opens the menu bar???
Computers are so scary what if I accidentally hit F12 in a steam game and it takes a screenshot. What if I press shift + F12 while in word and accidentally save my document 😖
