not to be a buzzkill but i think a lot of the pregnant man jokes yall make border on being transphobic
oh you think the idea of a man being pregnant is funny? why is that? explain in detail please.
I completely understand why you say it could be transphobic. And I honestly don't know which way my answer may make you feel. But I want to mention:
From what I've observed, it's not purely "ha ha pregnant man funny" like "haha man in dress funny". There's an element of seeing (cis) men forced into uncomfortable situations that only (cis) women experience. Pregnancy is horrible. Painful. Miserable. And (cis) men don't understand that. They make light of it. Laugh about it. At best, they're extremely ignorant about it. And so making a fictional (cis) man experience what (cis) women experience all the time can be extremely satisfying.
I'm not really weighing in on the morality of this. Just observing. I hope I articulated it well-enough.
even if that was true (and im sorry but i dont think most of the people making mpreg jokes are doing it because they're trying to take cis men down a peg. they're doing it because they see the idea of a man being pregnant as absurd and funny) that would still be cissexist as fuck. they never specify that they're talking about cis men, they just say "men". do you not see how that is, at the very very least a little bit cissexist?
also cis women are not the only people who can be pregnant. that is sort of my entire point here.
