(Swipe right for a funny video lol) - The most important part of college isn't what you do in class, but outside of it. I always had potential, but I didn't know how to harness it until after joining Protege club back in fall 2014. It was fun yet empowering for a black brother. I mean this is where I learned to tie a tie mann ๐๐ & also got my 1st experience going out of state! Mr. Smith, our advisor, made sure we always worked hard for the club. He would tell me its okay to be goofy, but stay productive and know when to act serious. All that hard work & dedication I put into Protege over those 2 years made just being "a club officer" into a life changing experience. I was under so much pressure being President of two clubs my final year, but I would not be as efficient and resourceful today without it. I wanted to prove to myself that I can become so much stronger. I still can! I'm still good friends with everyone in these photos & we push each other to succeed every time we talk. We have had so many funny moments man. I found our speech from the 2014-2015 leadership awards & I attached it. We came up with it on the spot and decided to just put it all on Mr. Smith ๐๐๐ cause why not right? Every time hear my "advisorrr" line I cringe lmao. Can't wait to meet with him again when I get back. Life is so interesting man cause you never know what's in store for you. That goofball back then could have never imaged evolving into the *successful* goofball he is today lol. Who woulda known one of my Protege bros would be the reason I got my full ride scholarship. That another would be my biggest supporter of my clothing. That another i'd be hanging out in D.C with this May & others seeing the world with. I got so much guidance and advice from you all. Just amazing people man and appreciate it all. You can make something like anything, even "being in a club" into a powerful experience for yourself. Education... is what you make it ๐ฅ (at Prairie State College)

#Naruto officially ended today๐ฃ. So many feels when the manga ended and now that the anime ended its all coming back ๐ญ๐ญ. If I were to rank my influences, Naruto would be #1, miles ahead of the rest. I 1st gained my confidence and believed in myself because of Naruto. I followed his journey as we grew up together and overcame so many battles because I knew Naruto would do the same. My ambition to become the best to this day, everything stemmed from Naruto and led me to who I am today. I attached some random photos off my IG about Naruto I've posted over the years. I am currently back at Narita International Airport waiting for my flight back to Houston. The remaining 2 days I mentioned were more relaxed days which we needed from such a productive and epic study tour. This experience was life changing... beyond amazing. If my life was a book, a lot of foreshadowing was hinted at here. If everything goes rigbt, the next chapter or my life will be even bigger and epic than I expected... And sooner. [Japan๐ฏ๐ตDay 5] was so amazing. We visited Matsushima and learned about the culture there. They are famous for Kokeshi dolls which I got one. Me, Naho & Hitome explored the bay area and taught me a lot of new things about living in Japan lol. We got to go on a boat cruise (my 1st time) of the bay and drove across all the various small islands Japan has on its coast. It was a really great time to reflect on life. After that, we went to the bus to find out this was gonna be last time we would officially see the MUE students it was so sadddd ๐ญ๐ญ. Luckily some were able to come to hang out later that night! Me, Kiana, Chikako & others went to Karaoke which was really fun for my 1st time. Also very exhausting I slept easy that night ๐ค๐ค๐ค๐. We also went to a fish cake factory where we made fish cakes and dream catchers! If you zoom in on mine you can read what it says ๐ถ๐ถ. [Japan๐ฏ๐ตDay 4] was probally my favorite day. We got to see the MUE students at Miyagi University of Education and explore the school. I was the most powerful in the dojo ๐๐. We also did Caligraphy which was really cool I'm going post mine later. Its very Fuki. Fuki indeed. We then went to Parco which is a huge shopping mall area. Me, Dennis, Dike, Asami & Azusa went to go eat pizza it was so gooooood. This is also the day I became cho binbou (very poor lol). I spent over 16000 yen on anime and manga ($160). [Japan๐ฏ๐ตDay 3] We got on the bullet train for the 1st time to move from Tokyo to Sendai, Japan. it is shaped really cool & goes superfast. My ears were jingling the entire ride. After getting off we finallyy got to see the MUE students again I missed yawlllllllll. We went out to eat then visited Iwanuma city, where the 2011 East Japan Earthquake happened. This tragedy really showed me the resilliance of Japanese people & how they work really hard to secure safety in Japan. A photo of us here got in the local newspaper! [Japan๐ฏ๐ตDay 2] Woke up feeling woke lol. We got a history lesson on the relationship between Japan and USA. While it started off bad, a lot of good came has came from it. We are the only ally to Japan & we support each other so much. Maybe that's why Japan kept feeling like a second home to me ๐. Japan gives so much money to the world for good causes too! We went out to several places I got eat Miso Ramen for the 1st time and it was good! Japanese food is a lot healthier I kept avoiding vegetables ๐๐. We then went to the Edo Tokyo Museum to learn in more depth about Jaapnese culture. Everything here is so technologically advanced but have many traditional roots. We also went to the Sensoji temple where I learned a traditional prayer and got to explore a lot of the different shops. I accidentally came across this photo online a couple months ago & I felt this urge to save it. Its just something about it that kept me staring. Its 1 am ish right now and I'm just reflecting on this crazy adventure of a life I'm living. I'm looking into the mirror surprised at how happy I am... Because as a child I was very depressed. I hated the world... it was so cruel so cold to me. Grammar school, 1st half of high school... Just jeez. I cried a lot man I went through so much pain... all alone. But one day, idk specifically who/what it was, maybe it was just me looking into my heart, but something made me decide to take control of my life and to make it beautiful. And this is what this art reminds me of... The transition that led me to the beautiful life I live today. Something made me realize that this world is worth living in. Find that something. Enjoy the world. Its yours! I'm not rich. I'm not perfect. I make mistakes and I go through many struggles and stressful times, but I'm happy. So happy because I'm unapologetically being me & living life the way I want it to be. Oh, & I've gained amazing friends a lot the way who support me! Live your life ๐. Our time in Japan has been so productive and amazing that I barely have had any time to post things daily & explain them. I will post majority of the photos after! I have hundreds to sort through and still got 4 days left lol. But omg, the bullet train, hanging with the amazing MUE students in Sendai Japan, speaking Japanese, making calligraphy, learning about the resiliance, unitedness and innovation Japanese people have had after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.... Its all just WOW. Truly this one of my top 5 moments in my life & I can't wait to post everything once i get the time to organize it.
