Dealing with someone who has mental health issues, who refuses to resolve them and then emotionally and verbally abuses you anytime they get frustrated or angry has been such a journey, it’s even sadder when all you ever wanted for them is to recover and to start practicing self love. This year I learnt the concept of loving someone so much that you encourage them to improve themselves and if that doesn’t include you - it doesn’t remove the love you have for them. I also learnt that there’s a thin line between love and misunderstandings and the importance of communication and patience. I’ve learnt to accept an apology I may never receive and for that not to impact the love that still remains. I’ve learnt to follow my heart and ignore the inexperienced advice from people around me. I’ve also learnt that I wasn’t prepared for such an encounter and it revealed negative sides to me I didn’t even know what there and has highlighted personal issues that I have began to resolve. I’ve learnt that seeking therapy and talking to someone isn’t something you should scared of. And I’ve learnt what it’s like to be a helping hand even though it probably will never be appreciated or needed. I’ve learnt the lengths love will take you when you see the light in someone and just want them to be free. I’ve learnt to never give up on people - even if they have given up on me or even worst themselves. Ive learnt the true meaning of “I’m here if you need me” and I’ll always stick to that. I hope you’re reading.
* drink at least 64oz of water per day * exfoliate 2-3 times per week * shampoo once a month * deep condition hair weekly * wash your face twice a day * make sure you tone and moisturize after washing your face * exercise at least 4 days a week, more is better if you can * WEAR FUCKING SUNSCREEN * keep alcohol and drug use to a minimum, none if you can * pray or meditate daily * keep your nails done, even if you gotta do them yourself * read a book worth reading * add a hair vitamin to your regimen if you wanna grow hair out * trim your ends when necessary, please * don’t let these niggas stress you
- eat your veggies and fruits - do your squats - go to bed at a decent hour - wake up early - eat a nice breakfast - STOP DRINKING FUCKING SODA - drink tea - wear makeup if that’s what you wanna do and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t - don’t sleep in your makeup though - do your protein treatments cause they’re important - cranberry juice NOT cranberry juice cocktail - do yoga - go outside, get some sun and fresh air
A significant other cannot "cure" your mental illness.
All they can do is encourage you to seek recovery and support you throughout this process but other people are not your crutch. You are strong enough to get through this! Be thankful for the people who never leave your side but don’t take shit out on them because they are only human and shouldn’t be punished for loving you.
get you a man whose going to grow with you and help you deal with your unstable emotions
“Create your own philosophies. We fill our heads with other people’s ideas before we try to understand the world ourselves.”
— Kid Cudi (via awakenedvibrations)
Destroy the idea that you have to be constantly working or grinding in order to be successful. Embrace the concept that rest, recovery, and reflection are essential parts of the progress towards a successful and ultimately happy life.
you’d be surprised how many people don’t really see others as actual multi faceted human beings who are bound to make bad decisions and mistakes. why so many people act as if they can’t relate to that is beyond me. like y’all think y’all have empathy but do you? do you really? ego based empathy is surely what most people are operating on whether they know it or not
people who change their behavior to keep you in their lives are to be appreciated. be patient with them.
