I’m losing my mind I just saw panic in Pittsburgh and while they set up Africa by Toto came on and the entire crowd went wild and turned on their phone lights and sang and I was sitting next to a dad in his fifties and he was SO confused he said “this wasn’t even this big of a hit when it came out???”
Real shit.
Kobe and GiGi 😭😭😢 . This is absolutely heartbreaking.

here’s to new things...
here’s to new things. to breaking free of the toxicity and the negativity and focus on growing.
growing as a person, growing as a part of this wondrous universe where nothing is set in stone (unless it’s actually stone)
here’s to exploring parts of myself that have gone so far untouched out of fear but i’m willing to dive in now that i have nothing to lose
here’s to leading a better life where i’m sure to focus on myself before i give my all to someone else…
you were a great chapter, but now we must both start anew in hopes that if all goes well, we’ll find each other again…
here’s to new things 🥂
FIJIAN LANGUAGE WEEK Day One: Isa Lei Lia is widely considered one of the most beloved love songs in the Fijian language, covered by generations of Fijian artists telling the story of Adi (Fijian for woman of high birth) Lia. In Fijian culture to initiate courting the couple need to exchange gifts, to prove their commitment to each other. This is even more important when the receiver, as it is in this case, is of noble birth. In this song, the singer sets out to harvest a rare pearl to prove their love for Adi Lia. However, harvesting a pearl is a very difficult thing to do, and we as an audience learn that this song is the last thoughts of the singer, as she is tragically killed (either by drowning, or the bends I’ve never been able to translate). The song is a love letter to Lia, saying sorry that she couldn’t get her pearl, and that she is very sorry that she couldn’t give Lia the gift and the happiness that she deserves.
