     although darwin didn’t agree with cassie, she understood her motives, and she wasn’t about to scold her for following her heart. “ it’s okay, ” she began, sitting down and letting her legs stick through the railing, patting the floor beside her as she glimpsed the tears in her friend’s eyes, “ sit down. we can watch the s u n r i s e together. ”

the girl nodded , a weak smile forming on her face but it disappeared quickly as she walked over to sit next to darwin , managing to blink some tears away . as she sits and gets comfortable , cassie looks over towards the sky , “ do you ever think about all the fuck ups you ever made and how your life would be different if you didn’t make them ? “

she had to take her mind off of it , off of the choice she soon had to make . cassie didn’t want to believe it was actually happening , she didn’t want to leave , but she didn’t want to stay either . where they were staying was beginning to feel like home and after poppy  — IT JUST DOESN’T . now , cassie was drawing things in the sand with her finger - lost in her thoughts , she was so focused on what was going on inside her head that she didn’t hear a voice calling out her name .

      he sat just outside the building, his elbows resting on his knees with his head in his hands. he’d been worried sick all night long, something that he wasn’t used to doing much of, usually percy was a go with the flow kind of guy. but with the rumors that had been floating being confirmed, percy couldn’t help but worry.

      percy rubbed his temples with a sigh before sitting up straight & leaning his body weight back onto his hands behind him. that’s when he noticed someone exiting the building & drifting toward him. he turned around to face the other with a sympathetic look.

      “ hey.. i hope i didn’t wake you up when i got up, i - i couldn’t sleep.. there’s a lot to think about right now, ” percy spoke, his eyes steady on the person in front of him but his thoughts wondered profusely.

the girl had been outside ever since dusk , she heard the news of the choice to stay or go and it circled around in her mind so much that she forgot about sleep . her eyes were focused on the stars , the brightest ones catching her eyes at first and all she could think was that those represented her family . cassie thought that they were probably looking down on her , shaming her that she had gotten herself stuck in this position , if only she thought twice  —— A CREAK . a creak from the old wooden building near her , moving her head to the side , the moonlight shone right above the building so it was easy to tell who came out .

a sigh left through her lips as she walked over to him , looking down at percy as he looked up at her , “ hey , sea monster . “ she laughed , sitting herself down beside him . cassie shrugged at his statement , “ i’ve been out here almost all night  — it’s been on my mind , too .” she muttered , her eyes trailing back up to the sky but only for a second as they shot over to the boy beside her , “ are you staying ? “

a glance to the figure outside the window was all it took for elaine to bolt out of her chair, running towards the person that recognized as cassie. she stopped just in front of her, holding her steady with her hands on both her shoulders after she bumped into her. ‘ –– cassie, ’ she breathed out relieved to see her again after she didn’t see her this morning. however the relief on her face soon turned into a concerned look after she noticed the cuts on her face. ‘ what happened to you? where were you? ––- are you alright? ’ 

when she saw it was elaine , cassie immedietaly broke down , the tears rushing down her face as she pulled the other into a hug , needing it more than ever . after several seconds , cassie pulled back , trying to calm herself down , “ i tried to go back . just to see how it was doing , my brothers are still there . “ her words were shaky and her voice was rough , “ i’m not fine . not at all . “

cassie stayed silent , knowing there wasn’t much to say besides arguing that she was okay when she KNEW herself that she wasn’t . pushing back some fallen hair out of her face , she then nodded once asked for help , “ help would be nice . “

Judas was out hunting whatever he could hope to find, but it had been a couple of hours now and no luck. He was starting back when he was all but knocked over, his senses weren’t heightened by any means but he turned around quickly all but setting the girl on fire. It took a moment for him to recognize her through the mud and blood, but it clicked “Cassie, fucking–” He trailed off, lowering his hand and sighing “I could’ve turned you into toast.” His brow furrowed and he took a step forward, looking her cuts over “Are you?”

a gasp left through her mouth as she noticed it was judas , the damn hunter almost killing her . she watched as he lowered his hand , her eyes moved away and around the area , to see if she noticed anything to determine if she was close to camp . “ i’m glad you didn’t , means a lot . “ cassie muttered , blue hues flickering back over to judas , “ yes , i am . “
