i take the gin out of my hello kitty messenger bag, and take a swig, while sitting on the bench. i chase it with a cigarette. alexandra takes a picture of this with her palm pilot. i get a glare the group of preppy girls standing nearby.

When the world is reduced to a single dark wood for our two pairs of dazzled eyes--to a beach for two faithful children--to a musical house for our clear understanding--then I shall find you. When there is only one old man on earth, lonely, peaceful, handsome, living in unsurpassed luxury, then I am at your feet. When I have realized all your memories,--when I am the girl who can tie your hands,--then I will stifle you.

Christopher's Movie Matinee (1968, dir. Mort Ransen)
produced by the National Film Board.
NFB/ONF: "When movie cameras were put in the hands of a few young people, they made this film about themselves and their world. The footage they gathered is presented in feature film with very little editing. There are sit-ins, love-ins, animated discussions among themselves about almost everything, and encounters with adults on a bus and on the street. The film is a revealing portrait of a dissenting generation and its rationale."

1. I saw a possibly used insulin needle at the side of the seat in the space by the car wall on the subway? so there's that 2. at the public bathroom there was a bag of barbecue chicken, four bags of cookies, and takeout containers surrounding the toilet. presumably all emptied. someone had a good time 3. the bank let me have a credit card because apparently i'm an adult ("adult") 4. cuteness isn't an excuse for rudeness 5. fulfilling a to-do list and getting all your hair chopped off feels good. both often suffer delays. severe ones.
I am so in love with this.
