Melanie and Cary have both told me about him and he seems like an okay guy.” I don’t have a lot of say about this. He admitted to David. “Fukuyama is pretty adamant, and his logic is pretty solid. Unless you find a way to kill Farouk without killing Oliver, our best option is to kill Oliver before he finds Farouk’s body.”

‘Well if it was, you are doing a pretty good job at it,’ David thought to himself. He eyed Clark’s face. To be honest, he was lucky to be alive - given what happened to the rest of the Division Three guards that day at the swimming pool. “Then maybe you should stop assuming I’m the enemy and help me think of a way to get him out of this alive.” David told him. He pinched the bridge of his nose and let out a heavy sigh as the other continued to talk. Clearly he wasn’t going to get Clark to take his side over Fukuyama, not yet anyways. “Well I promised to help find Farouk, I never promised to kill my friend. So if you expect me to help when the time comes-...”

You have been acting a little suspicious lately, Clark thought, guessing that David would be listening. “Yeah, that basically covers it.” David’s explanation seemed good enough. “You know, Farouk has to have a host, and he’s gonna keep hopping people’s bodies until he gets his own body back. When he gets his body back, even you won’t be able to beat him, so the best way to stop all this mess is for Farouk to die in a body that isn’t his own.”

‘Are you just trying to see how much you can piss me off?’ David projected into Clark’s mind. When what he really wanted to say was something along the lines of: ‘you are making it extremely difficult to not want to throw more office supplies at you,’ but he refrained. He turned his gaze back on Clark, his eyes narrowed at him as he listened to his words. He was not going to allow anyone to kill Oliver. “Are you sure about that?” he asked. Farouk had told him that they were gods; that had to count for something. Maybe David was still trying to figure out his abilities, but he was starting to understand his strength - well some of it anyway. “You get mad at him for killing your people, yet you’re so willing to kill one of ours without even batting an eye. How does that make you any better than him? Because you are one of the good guys? So is Oliver.”

David eyed his old friend. He had to admit; while his early twenties weren’t exactly the highlight of his life - Lenny had been a good friend at the time. Even if the two of them had gotten into some trouble together, and he missed having them around as someone other than one of the Shadow Kings partners. “Well Amahl. He said I was like a God, right? So maybe, maybe I could figure something out. Help you find a way out. Except you technically died, so I don’t know how that would work?” he asked as he lifted his hand to scratch at the back of his head while he thought to himself. “If I can do it though, can you like - promise not to fuck shit up?”
