"You do know I went to law school, right?" She sighed, running her fingers through her hair. "I deal with liars on a daily basis and you're horrible at it. So you an either stop wasting my time and tell me why the fuck you had a guy over here or I can leave?" she offered, shrugging her shoulders.
"Oh... I didn't even know he was here..." Ember trailed off, not really sure if she believed Roxanne's story. However, she didn't want to push it. She didn't want to accuse her girlfriend of anything. "Here I'll text him and let him know they're here," she offered, a warm smile on her face and she sent the text. A few moments, later he replied saying he hadn't stayed at their place recently and they weren't his. "... Rox, why are you lying to me?"
Ember wasn't trying to start a fight by calling Aaron, but it was really just her personality. She had a hard time trusting people, or believing in theories. Hard, concrete evidence was always easier for her to trust, but she knew she looked like a dick and didn't expect Gabriela to understand. "I'm sorry—," she apologized quickly, standing up and following her girlfriend over to the washing machine.
Although Gabriela's story seemed pretty convincing, Ember pulled out her phone and called Aaron just to be sure. After he confirmed the information, she let out a breath of relief she hadn't known she was holding. "I'm glad you're not cheating on me... but I'm still concerned because you shared underwear with your brother," she chuckled, laughing at herself for overreacting. Normally, Ember considered herself levelheaded, but something about Gabriela made her crazy. "I'm sorry I doubted you," she apologized, giving her girlfriend a soft, warm smile.
"Who's the fuck are these?" Ember practically screamed, holding up a pair of nice briefs. They clearly belonged to someone with a lot more going on downstairs than her and her girlfriend. Walking out of the laundry room and into the living room, she tossed the dirty underwear onto the coffee table. "You have about ten seconds to explain before I pack my shit and leave," she threatened.
