I'm kind of in the process of working through a lot, and can, on occasion, get emotionally volatile on main. I try to not do that, and it's very, very rare that it does happen, but it does happen sometimes
I do not have a DNI, I will block at my own leisure. Also, if you follow me and I can't confirm you are not a bot, I will block you. But that and like, outright harassment are the ONLY reasons I'll block
Anyway, expect art of the little critters that live in my brain. It will be bad art, but I hope to improve as time goes on. Also music. That's the dream: drawing and making music.
Speaking of music, this post will eventually contain a link to a YouTube playlist by yours truly called "music that slaps". I'll get to work on that later.
EDIT: here's the playlist.
uh... guess I should introduce myself:
+diagnosed Autism & ADHD
+very, VERY shy
+Over 21
+he/him/his
+ace
+relatively quiet/reserved/low-key person, out of a blend of working through a lot and a general desire for privacy. Learning to open up more is the reason I'm here tbh
I do want to start tagging my characters, once I start drawing them again
Tem could go on and on about the differences between his favorite game's combat systems (Bravely Default vs. Etrian Odyssey vs. Final Fantasy 5 vs. Expedition 33, games like that) for a long time.
Coral would probably talk about whatever book she's currently reading or just finished.
River, Gil, and Keith tend to talk about music with each other a lot
not sure how to start this post, so I guess I'll just dive right in
Tem is completely separate from all of my other characters in terms of setting and lore, because he's supposed to just be a furry version of me, with some overpowered magical items and superpowers so that I can put him into whatever kind of story I want. For anyone reading that has heard of MegaMan Battle Network and/or Code Lyoko, Tem is basically my Navi or Lyoko avatar.
Since I take notes on this stuff in a notes app on my computer, I thought it would be a neat idea to try and write a story (just to practice story writing at all) about Tem, as a being that lives in my computer. It would revolve around him waking up all of a sudden and having to figure out who he is, where he is, and why he's there. He'd end up learning that he was created by someone, that he's inherited that someone's memories, and that he was made by this person to go out there and explore stuff in a way his creator (i.e. me) felt unable to. He can explore the whole entire internet like it's a physical place, but he's ultimately the only person he's met. There's a lot of data floating around on the internet, and he can see there's a whole world out there of people making posts, but he can't directly interact with any of it. I haven't really figured out yet how I want to write him overcoming his loneliness and meeting new people
Edit to add some stuff: I'm not sure I'll ever post this story, and I'm also not sure how much of it is canon. I'm very, very fond of the idea, but "Tem the OC" and "Tem my fursona" are two different things that just happen to have a lot of overlap between them
-What is one thing that your character hates the most? (can be about whatever, daily frustrations, rivals, etc)
My answer: Yoru hates rainy weather, mostly because the rain gets his fur soaked and during a heavy storm it can make it hard to see for him…
-If your character was given 3 wishes what would they wish for?
My answer: Yoru would probably wish first for the ability to summon anyone he wants to so that way if any friend lives far away who wants to visit, he can just will them into being right beside him. His second wish would likely consist of not being seen as a anomaly in his society, since, due to his appearance he looks like no other canine and would likely be hunted by other people in his city who learned of his existence. His third wish would be undecided…
-if your character met someone else’s, what would your character’s likely reaction be. (If you want, you can detail the entire meeting scenario as an option, or you can just describe what they would be like.)
My answer: Yoru would likely be cautious, and apprehensive at first, then if the other person showed no fear or aggression towards him, he’d likely become more open and friendly during the rest of the conversation, enjoying the other person’s presence…
-What’s a major detail about your OC that either keeps changing, you may not like, or you added recently…
My answer: One of the major details about Yoru was his fur color, I used to have it be grey, but changed it to white while I was away from tumblr, so I could focus more on the character detail (fur, eyes, etc) I also added his eyebrow ring, which I wasn’t fond of at first, but it eventually become part of his character. I also removed his spiral earrings at first, but I eventually felt like adding them back later on…
(I just went ahead and tagged everyone. If anyone didn’t want to be included just let me know in the comments and I’ll omit your name from the list in future tag challenges. Also, if I forgot to tag anyone who wants to do this, feel free to join in…)
---One thing he hates is rude treatment, towards himself or anyone he thinks doesn't deserve it. Treating someone like they're less competent than they are, talking down to them, babying them, etc. Basically, if you're the sort of person to talk down to and be rude to the people you see as below you just because you can get away with it, Tem probably doesn't like you very much
---One wish he'd definitely make is for a bit of company. Within the very barebones setting I've put him in, he's alone. Even the drone that goes with him everywhere isn't a robot buddy, it's more like a puppet body. The other two wishes... that's tricky. He'd probably try to save them for later, and then use them to solve problems. Either that, or he'd save them, and then absentmindedly say something like "I wish I had a sandwich right now" and use one of them up by accident
---Tem is very, very shy around new people. He'd probably be worried about saying or doing something wrong. He doesn't have a lot of experience talking to people, so he'd probably be kind of awkward, even as he starts opening up. Once he really gets going, he can talk for hours about pretty much anything he's interested in, but he's worried about steamrolling conversations and holds back on purpose to let other people talk
---I've been trying to get a fur color pattern solidified for a while now. The black and white have stayed almost the same since his first design, and so has his gray eyepatch and the one gray paw. It's where the rest of the gray goes that keeps changing. First it was a line between the black and white patches, then it was tiger stripes for a bit, and now it's a ridge of even fluffier fur that runs down his back all the way to the end of his tail
I felt like I could have done better at this, so I decided to give it another go, with a reference and NOT using my usual proportions. I feel like part of my old method is starting to hold me back, and if this is any indication, I should keep experimenting, I'm really happy with this one
I was under a very hot blanket and was just wearing shorts with doodles of sea creatures on them. Also I gave him a bottle of cream soda because I had one earlier
Amphimorpho! This is just a quick map of what colors I want to use and where I want to put them. There's also some stuff that I couldn't add due to running out of space, and also because of perspective.
+This character is supposed to have TWO sets of front legs. If he were to stand on his back legs, he'd basically have four arms. His lower two arms are all white, EXCEPT for his lower-left handpaw, which is gray. I ran out of space between the front and back legs to draw the second set. Also the insides of the front-front legs are gray, the outside of them is black
+He's also supposed to have a gray circular spot around his right eye, but he's facing the wrong way and it doesn't show up "on camera"
+The tip of his tail is black, and fluffy. I'm not good at drawing the fluffy yet
+The black, white, and gray colors are just the standard ones I'm most likely to use. As long as the layout of which color goes where is the same, any combination of colors is possible
+This was my first time freehanding everything instead of mapping out proportions first. For a first time, I don't think it turned out too bad! Also there are bases that I could have used. Don't know why I didn't use one
So I changed the design AGAIN. I feel like I've finally settled on something I like. The main problem with the one shown here was the grey bit around the black fur intersecting with the grey spot over his right eye. I've replaced the grey band with grey stripes. Gotta draw that soon
Decided to do another tag chain (Pls don’t hate me, I just really enjoy doing these.)
Questions:
1: What’s one of your favorite or most memorable thing about your OC?
2: How long has your OC been around since their creation?
3: Does your OC have any special abilities or defining traits?
Answers:
1: For Yoru: I like drawing the neck definitely, I like the way it makes him stand out a little from a lot of other canid characters but not in a too exaggerated way.
For Jousi: I enjoy the way their missing lower jaw gives a sort of unfinished look to whatever drawing they’re in. Like something more is supposed to be there, but it just isn’t.
2: For Yoru: Yoru first appeared in January of 2025, I really didn’t have much of a plan for him and he was originally just a rushed OC that I put on tumblr so I could say I had one.
Jousi I thought a little more on when I made him recently and I based their design off of one of my previous OC’s who had a missing upper jaw but was an absolute pain to create whenever I felt like doing an art piece with him, so I made a different OC with a missing lower jaw who felt easier for me to draw and that’s how Jousi began to be my newest OC.
3: Yoru so far, has no defining traits, like Yomo (who’s mind-controlled by a dragon.) or Chimera (who has a scorpion tail.) I never wanted him to be powerful or have any abilities of his own since he was intended to be an average joe character.
Jousi is the same way. No abilities but the missing lower jaw is one of their most characteristic features that I enjoy drawing…
(Anyone who I may have tagged who didn’t wish to be tagged: Just let me know in the comments if you don’t want to be next time and I’ll make sure to omit your name.)
1: Mora has a super simple design, but i based his appearance off my dog (he might have gotten some of her sillyness too). I think one of my favorite things about Milton is his personality and how it influences the way i draw him: the clothes that he likes to wear, the fact that he's almost always in trouble and the sheer chaos makes it feel like every drawing i do of him is unique and interesting.
2: I created Mora abt a year ago, i had a lot of self esteem issues so i thought abt drawing myself as something i like (dog) so i would start liking myself. Milton has almost the same age, i think he's abt a month or two younger, and afun fact, i created him because i needed an oc for a tag chain (so thanks @alexandervovich for helping me with my first oc! )
3: Mora doesn't have any abilities of his own, however he kinda discovered "blood magic" and is its main researcher. Milton naturally has magic in his body and is able to conjure electricity (and maybe some other things he doesn't know yet)
(the original post disappeared before I could respond, so I'm responding from here)
I think I'll do Tem again for this one
1: My favorite thing about Tem is what he represents to me: he's both a regular human and a shapeshifter, at the same time, and I'll draw him as a human with paw feet and a tail fairly often. That balance of human and shapeshifter ended up working out to be a really good analogy for my autism & adhd, which tend to fight with each other - trying to balance things that would otherwise cancel each other out is what the entire character is themed around. That's why his name is Tem - it's short for Temperance, like the tarot card!
2: This one is tricky. I have an older fursona that got turned into a regular OC over time, and Tem was initially created as a generic avatar character to replace that one as a fursona. I wanna say I came up with the character that would eventually become Tem near the end of 2024, but he was a generic shapeshifter then. He solidified a lot as a character once I learned what amphimorpho are, since him being an amphimorpho was pretty much what I wanted from the start, I just didn't realize it at the time.
3: As for special abilities, since he's a representation of me, and I'm the artist that created him, Tem has the ability to capital-P Paint, like a few of the characters from Expedition 33. A lot of my self-inserts, since I was maybe 15, have had the ability to project their imagination onto reality to warp it somehow, but Expedition 33 game me the idea to use art as context for it. That, and not even my self-insert can escape my love of turn-based games: Tem's special RPG class is actually 8 classes in 1, all of which focus on something different (one is a defender, one is a healer, one is a fighter, and so on). With the video game system I'm working on, he can swap between them mid-battle, but if you go too long without swapping, the game will make you swap. He's a jack of all trades, and a master of one. One at a time, that is.
Hey everyone I have no other choice but to ask since rent gets my entire first paycheck, my wifes flu left It restricted to a special diet and we are flat broke after meds as well our electric is about to be shutoff, any help you can spare appreciated
Hey so with all the stress and ER visits i do have two more major bills coming this week into next and so I have to keep asking for some help because we are a financial mess after all of this and I cant pay the upcoming insurance and an IRS payment for $140. Anything helps and im extremely grateful
Hi still desperately need donations Im literally working and taking care of my sick partner 24/7 right now and my body cannot take anymore stress please help cover these bills so i have one less thing looming over and suffocating us
I appreciate greatly all the shares and anyone who has donated thus far it means an incredible amount to us
today is my first day off and I realize I was really unclear in the wording of this, $140 for the IRS payment but the insurance payment is $200. I had to cut into the donations received so far because we needed toiletries, trash bags, and groceries and that was about $100 in all.
So, infodump incoming. This is Tem, my fursona. His name is short for Temperance, and it's a shapeshifter, more specifically an amphimorpho. He's also a human and Eevee at the same time (I'll get to that). This will be a long read, so "keep reading" goes here.
I've spent since... around halfway through 2023 trying to come up with a fursona, and didn't really manage to create something I liked until the beginning of 2024, but then that 'sona got turned into a regular OC over time, so I think I've had Tem here since around halfway or 2/3 of the way through 2024. I knew from the beginning that I wanted my fursona to be a shapeshifter with its own shapeshifter form, and not just constantly changing what kind of critter he is. I also knew I wanted that shapeshifter form to be as fluffy and adorable as possible, and that a big fluffy tail was a non-negotiable requirement. AND that it was going to be something that liked to gently bite as a show of affection. I learned what amphimorpho are in September 2025, and from the moment I looked at the information available on the official page, I just knew that that was what I wanted for myself. Just discovering them made me so excited that I could physically feel my own excitement!
As for the Eevee side of things, I don't really play Pokemon at all, but I know enough about it to know what an Eevee is, and an Eevee was something I strongly considered as a main form for a more generic shapeshifter 'sona before the shapeshifter idea solidified into Tem. I like Eevee because Eevees themselves are shapeshifter-coded to me - I think that their basic Eevee form is their shapeshifter form, and that they can evolve into any one type, whether there's a canon form for it or not, and then devolve back into an Eevee when maintaining an evolved form gets too tiresome. That, and their being ambiguous fluffy creatures with that shapeshifting ability was something I was drawn to before I learned about amphimorpho. I've decided to keep the Eevee side of things as an alternate manifestation of the core "shapeshifter" idea.
As for lore/powers/other cool stuff, Tem is supposed to blur the line between being a fursona and a direct representation of myself on purpose. But, as a self-insert, since I love turn based games like Etrian Odyssey, I've given Tem his own character class that's loosely based on post-soft reboot Persona - Tem actually has eight classes it can swap between, but he can only use each one for a set amount of turns before it has to swap to another one. Older iterations of this class were themed around swapping between different playing card suits, with the four standard ones and four more that I made up. The class actually used to use playing cards as a weapon, which would've been modeled on the way Taion uses his mondo in Xenoblade 3, and while the cards themselves have been phased out, the suits have stuck. Spades is a fighter, Diamonds is the tank suit, Hearts does healing, Flowers does buffs, Planets is a gimmicky support unit (think like Final Fantasy's time mage), but also has Shin Megami Tensei-inspired light and dark insta-kill spells, Gears is a red mage-inspired suit with a tricky gimmick attached to keep things interesting, Stars is the elemental magic attacker suit, and Clubs ended up being the status effects & debuffs suit by process of elimination. There's also a ninth trump suit that acts as a limit break that only grants passives, most of which add bonus properties to his basic attack.
The little black and blue thing next to it is 303, his assist drone. It's desiged to look like a UFO, specifically UFO Kirby, and It doesn't really have a mind or will of its own, it's more like a puppet body. 303 is named after the Roland TB-303, and I got the idea to name it after musical equipment from Hi-Fi Rush's 808. I chose to name it after a bass synthesizer because it helps me keep my rhythm by supporting me - it's my bassist in that way. I'm autistic and I have ADHD, and using my voice is exhausting, so 303 can use text-to-speech to communicate what I want to say (like it's doing in the drawing - "Haiii!"). It can also break things down into light and absorb them, then spit them back out later, so it can carry stuff. And it's a compass, and it can do any math/graphing that a TI-83 can do, and it can display 3D holograms in a 2.5 meter radius around itself, and it has a projector function, and a glow function to act as a lantern or nightlight, and it's an MP3 player, AND it can search the internet - it's basically a second cell phone, a suitcase, and an autism/ADHD accommodation device, all in one. For the video game inspired stuff, it can use any of the suits Tem can, and has a perfect copy of Tem's stats and skills. With 303 in a second party slot, there are essentially two Tems in the battle.
As for why I've named it Temperance, well, I used to play around with Tarot cards, and the one I remember that reminds me of Tem himself is Temperance. I've also seen a few Tarot sets refer to the same card as "Art". The way I've interpreted the idea from the card and worked it into the character is "two things that should cancel each other out or work against each other blending seamlessly instead". Autism and ADHD, human and inhuman, fiction and reality, my real life and my daydreams. I created Tem to try and teach myself how to blend those things, what a blend of those things might look like, and how to stop accidentally working against myself. He's also something that helps me achieve a desire for freedom - I'm locked to whatever means life gives me, but Tem can go anywhere, and become anything, I can imagine. Tem is the me I wish I could be.
Reblogging because this is the character I was trying to draw in my previous post. I want to do more of a "lore" dump at some point, because there is some stuff I left out, but I want to draw the stuff I left out to communicate it better. That, and the colors have shifted around a bit since I drew this and I want to make note of that. The colors in the previous post are accurate, except for one tweak I've already made: the insides of his ears are gray
+He's also supposed to have a gray circular spot around his right eye, but he's facing the wrong way and it doesn't show up "on camera"

so as long as tumblr keeps this, here's the tumblr version of etiquette that was maintained when twitter's quote-retweets affected artist visibility/notes:
for art that someone has added reblog commentary to (or removed the caption from), reblog from the source
otherwise, avoid adding reblog comments to art (as this will affect the artist's notes/visibility)—utilize tags and replies to provide commentary (which artists will absolutely appreciate)
reblog comments are comments added to the body of a post, not the tags and not replies.
for everyone asking, tumblr is making it impossible for you to add onto ANY post without making it its own separate post. If you put any addition on someone's post its now your post. The OP won't even be privy to any notes it gets unless they check that specific post. This makes it impossible to track anything which is really detrimental to artists who need to know their reach or just see what people are saying about their work. It also just means you can't reblog with any additions without taking notes away from your original post. This is part of what made twitter hostile and its the last gasping breath of a site run by people who don't understand it.
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!
Seriously, this is a tumblr-killer feature. This breaks the most fundamental way tumblr is different from any other social network. This makes tumblr just another blueskytwitterthreads. Or worse: An unfederated mastodon clone.
Please, mutuals, post about this, comment and reblog the original post (while you still can without making it your own quote-post). I don't know if staff is looking or if the feedback would matter, but seriously, this is a terrible change that would kill tumblr as we know it. Please, don't roll it out.
