I'm the shopkeeper Temmie, but you can also call me Hyacin, Ace, or Fixedsys. (Please use Fixedsys if you're a font-based skeleton, it makes me euphoric)

Anyways, I mainly focus on my experience as a polymind individual, and occasionally roleplay as Temmie. I yap, I coin, I draw, and most importantly, I reblog.

ive been looking through polymind stuff and seeing people talking about their other minds/subpersonalities speaking to them. and i wanna know is it really that common for your minds to speak to you? and how exactly does it work? my other minds dont have seperate internal dialogues like other peoples so i feel a bit confused (and kinda left out somewhat 🥲)

I'm actually not sure, @temmindset can you do a poll on it?

Personally, internal communication for us is more like "blah blah blah, wait a minute I would never think that" and then the realization somebody is active alongside me. We don't have proper internal communication, its more just I realize somebody is influencing how I think. Then external communication feels a bit like roleplaying.

Did 💚 have a name change?

Yes and no.

Greed(💚) was split in two: Joy and Parrot.

I keep the Joy part, while my sysmate @wing-loves-piracy keeps the Parrot part.

(System members assembling and disassembling is common BTW, we're like Steven Universe gems.)

what's the difference between an alter ego and a sub personality?

The way I perceive it is while subpersonalities are innate to you or created subconsciously, alter egos require your conscious effort to be made and preserved. (Once you forget about them, they disappear.)

Alter egos are also personas that emulate a radically different you. "Me but evil" is a good example; does everything you're against. Think of superheroes versus their ordinary self as well.

Most subpersonalities meanwhile are more subtle and less performative. Unless you're polyminded or seunusID, you don't assign them a unique identity or personhood. They just exist as ordinary parts of you.

And it's also important to mention how most people only keep one alter ego at a time. Maintaining a second one is hard — compare to the mindsets with 50+ minds.

Long story short, alter egos are so different from your typical subpersonality that you can even label them as a second personality.

Some people came from my plural blog, so I have to say this: alter egos shouldn't be confused with thoughtforms like tulpas and willomates.

Thoughtforms are only heavily controlled and sustained by their creator in their early days. Eventually, they gain enough sentience, independence, and permanence to turn into an alter. (a stage alter egos never reach)

And honestly, a lot of thoughtforms you meet online are at a fully developed stage, so treat them less like alters egos and more like alters.

I certainly have a fictling called Shopkeeper(💛), based on Temmie, but maybe I also have other fictlings.

For context, I have three minds who are reincarnated versions of fictives. This means they are indirectly inspired by fictional characters, thus I'm unsure if they're fictlings or not.

I’m grateful for my parts. They look out for me. They protect me. Whether it’s the nurturing parts that remind me to engage in self-care, or the parts that help me enforce my boundaries and remember it’s okay to feel angry.

I’m grateful for all my parts—even the “difficult” and unhealthy ones. The anxiety spirals, the people pleasing, the dissociation & disconnect. In one way or another, they’re all trying to protect me. They wouldn’t be here if they didn’t serve a purpose; they helped me survive up until now.
