Hudson shrugged, scoffing. He’d never found all of the auror duties very exciting. Sure, there was action, but there was also a certain mundane aspect to it. Really, no job within the ministry particularly sparked his interest. He’d much rather be traveling, making a mess of the world. “Lots of people turn to sports and entertainment in a time of need. It is the light in the darkness.” 

Tempest smirked. “And others turn to torturing people. Sorry Hudson. I did not mean to offend your sensibilities. There is nothing wrong with spending time playing games when it is the extend of your abilities.”

Hudson was willing to play just as dirty. School had never been his strong suit anyhow. Even in year seven, he hadn’t quite figured out just what his plan was. “I look forward to hearing about your boring life in ten years, sitting around the ministry waiting to ruin someone’s life. Because that’s what you do best.” 

“Yes, tracking down dark wizards is terribly boring. I will be regretting not having fun while keeping muggles and fellow wizards safe from domestic and international threats. For what are you planning on doing, Hudson? If your life is threatened, or if there is another war? Would playing Quidditch help?”

“Quidditch isn’t about enhancing magical abilities. It’s about having fun. It’s a sport.” Hudson pointed out, shrugging. “But hey, if you want to live a life where all you do is push papers and act like an ass, be my guest. The rest of us will be out having a good time on the pitch.” 

“That sounds like a perfect compromise. I look forward to hearing your NEWT scores. Did they add a category for having fun?” Tempest responded to him with an even voice, a touch of a smile pulling at her lips.

“An ADRENALINE rush that actually lasts for a little while.” Cameron shook his head and sighed as he listened to the words coming from the blonde. There is very little to be gained by flying around on broomsticks. “Actually, you have this thing that’s called FUN, I don’t know if you’ve heard of it. Besides, it’s nice to do something different than just go around reading and learning spells or whatever. We’re supposed to be kids. Might as well act like it, I’d say,” he continued and shrugged his shoulders.

Tempest shrugged, her hands on her hips. “Kids? I’m of-age. I do not see the point to doing anything that is not in favor of my future career. Besides, my idea of fun is learning spells. It’s doing everything I possible can to make sure I am a superior applicant when it comes to my Hogwarts graduation.”

“ - Frivolous activities?” Cameron laughed and shook his head as he stood in front of the blonde, with his Quidditch wear on as he was getting ready for practice. “And honestly, blondie, don’t you think it would be good for you to do something else than studying all the time?” he questioned and looked at her with raised eyebrows and an amused expression on his lips as he kept staring at the female.  

“I hardly spend my whole time studying. I just don’t care to risk brain damage for a quick adrenaline rush.” Tempest retorted, holding his gaze with indifference. “There is very little to be gained by flying around on broomsticks.”

“So because you want to be an auror, you also have to be unbearably boring?” Hudson grinned, poking at her arm. “Quidditch is a stress reliever, y’know. You could be a great beater.” 

“Boring?” Tempest reiterated with an eyebrow raised. “Not only is that insulting but it is incorrect. Quidditch is a waste, and it’s barbaric. There are many other activities that can be used to enhance your magical abilities.

Cayden opened her mouth, but no words came out. She wasn’t quite sure how to describe her mental state, she didn’t even know how she felt most of the time. “If I’m being honest–I’m not sure.” She furrowed her brows. She was fine with killing, not a drop of shed blood haunted her to this day.

“Well it is an important factor to remember, but I am not adept enough to teach it.” Tempest rose and cleared her throat, then began to stretch. “We will begin with you demonstrating your best offensive attack against me. I want to see your technique up close and in action.”
