Red Hood and The Outlaws (2016) #13
writer: Scott Lobdell artist: Dexter Soy
I have never seen an entire theatre of people have so much excitement as when Steve took that hammer, I got chills
It was so unexpected yet so expected. The true brilliance of both IW and Endgame, comes in their combo. They set up, with a quick jab to the throat, everyone dies and all is lost. The tension is built the entire movie and after because... they can’t ALL be dead, right?
Then in Endgame, it still looks hopeless, perhaps more so, and the heroes lose so much, but in the end, almost everything we ever wanted to happen in the mcu happens all at once, and then we get to THE SINGLE GREATEST SCENE IN MARVEL CINEMATIC HISTORY, WHEN THE GENIUS BILLIONAIRE PLAYBOY PHILANTHROPIST, FATHER OF EVERYTHING AND THE CHARACTER WE’VE BEEN WITH THE LONGEST AND THAT HAS EXPERIENCED THE MOST ROLLERCOASTER OF EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTERS SACRIFICES EVERYTHING HE WANTS TO DEFEAT THE VILLAIN. The heroic lead ups (such as steve lifting the hammer, or what I’ve seen referred to as, the girl power scene), make us swell up with so much emotion, and then Tony dies and we absolutely lose it. Like we lose it seventeen times during the movie, but each instant we are just further gone into the abyss of emotion that Endgame presents. Steve and the hammer is just one more METRIC TON of emotional C4, thrown onto the pile as the movie builds to its DESTRUCTIVE crescendo.
Are you… are you suggesting Deadpool kisses better than me?
You said it, not me, Cajun.

This gives me the same joy as seeing people hold kittens in one hand

Is that not what that is? Hm.

The most awkward moment in X-Men comic history
Scott Summers is just the trashiest X-man. Like please, quit with the drama Mr. Kardashian.
Who is your favorite Doctor Strange companion and or apprentice? Or if you can't pick you can always make a list.
Greetings and thanks for asking!
Oh… *sweating*
So many options, so many good characters… I’ll have to think a little bit.
Okay, so… By companion, I’ll assume a person that is close to Stephen but doesn’t follow Stephen’s tutelage in the mystic arts. In that case, I’d say Wong, although I think it’s pretty unfair how he’s usually treated in comics. He’s such a good fighter and I’d love to see their bond the same way, for instance, that Luke and Iron Fist share a partnership. Topaz is also a good companion, although she isn’t a current character in his life.
Now, regarding an apprentice… I’d say without hesitation that my favorite is Illyana. She’s my second favorite character and I love their relationship so much. Stephen accepted her even knowing they would fight in the future. More than that, he never judged her for her demonic side or feared she would lose control for dark magic. Also, she’s often portrayed as the next Sorcerer Supreme in some possible futures, which means he trusts her a lot to keep on the task. And that makes me so happy. Plus, the What If issue is everything to me because Stephen acts like a father to her, and it warms my little heart very much.
That said, I’m also very soft towards Wiccan, Zelma, Daimon, Wanda, Casey, Jericho, Danny, not to mention Clea herself. It’s really hard to pick one when we have so many wonderful characters. But these two hit right on my weak spot, that’s why I chose them!
Hope you liked my choices! Thank you for asking my opinion!
Wong really is SO underappreciated. I hope Benedict Wong’s portrayal will help
