Little they may be, but when you are in my position of power,
you, too, would be forced to learn quickly. While there are those
at court who would be true and loyal friends, there are more who

It is cynical. I know. But I am truly frightened at the thought of letting someone in, only to be betrayed by that person. All my life, I’ve longed for a friend. I do not want to be betrayed by a friend.❞
~"You'd be surprised what human nature can do. I've had a lot of moments in my life, and I'm sure you have too, where the power seems much more like a burden than a tool. Well, okay, more often than not, it feels as if it is a weight with no use.
But, on the other hand, there are many vipers, slithering their way through life to the top, using other's as step ladders. To many, you are a step, a target. It's a reasonable fear, betrayal.
But have you ever seen snakes try to slither up ice? On every council, be it of a kingdom, a court, or even a galaxy, there are those who would stand strong by their leader. They are the hawks and eagles who make sure that their superiors, no, their friends, are protected from those who mean ill. Those with strong friends like that, gain more and more affection simply from seeing those who are so close-knit.
Yes, life-experience can be enough. But my entire life, every moment has been a shock to what humans have done for each other.
It truly is a reasonable fear. My best advice is to trust those who know that fear. I've been betrayed by the last of my...family. Tried to kill me multiple times now. He never knew betrayal, just victory.
He was a snake, but my eagle took him out.
And that's just it, too! You and I, and all the kings and queens of the land! We aren't powerful! We aren't the invincible ones! So few people understand that, but you do! The ones who lead, aren't the ones who are the strongest! But the ones who are at the center of a strong net of trust. You and I, we have that. We have nets cast as wide as the stars themselves, even if we don't know it.
You're capable of amazing, brilliant things, Elsa. don't let that fear, no matter who reasonable it is, hold you back, because it's only a matter of time until I turn around and find that you're showing the world just how surprising human nature can be.
