Caught off guard by a sudden embrace, the young faunus could feel blood rushing to her cheeks. Blake could be a cold, calm and collected huntress, she could be an introvert, but she was a girl and she wanted to be loved. Surprisingly enough, even though she had never been a fan of holidays, this time she was... excited, perhaps?

“O-oh?.. And what do you suggest in that case?”

( ♚ ) ❝ Yeah.. I guess you’re right. ❞ Weak excuse or not it was still somewhat accurate. Having alone time to oneself is nice from time to time, but during certain situations, a loved one needed to be there for support. Even if Blake decided to admit her wrongs, Ichigo would never see her any differently. A warm sensation is felt upon calloused, battle-worn skin, caramel hues making contact with golden orbs.

❝ I understand how frightened you were. The day Beacon fell is something none of us ever saw coming. Despite the casualties, the academy fought a hard fight in the end. ❞ At the mention of her parents, eyes widened slightly. ❝ Oh! I don’t think you’ve ever talked about your family, just hope they’ll accept me.. ❞ Crown wavers snapping back into reality. ❝ We should head inside, can’t imagine sleeping the entire night out on this ship deck. ❞

“Yeah... it’s getting cold here after all. How about we go to my room? It’s  nothing fancy, but... that’ll do.” She said with a nod, accepting his offer. Perhaps, she could not afford first class accommodation, but, in all honesty, luxury is the last thing one cares for when they’ve got a lot of things to take care of, as well as a huge mess to fix. To be honest, she was surprised by how easily the young man admitted that she was right... to an extent, at least. Ever her need for space was not enough to explain why she chose to run away, desperately trying to escape as if she were surrounded by enemies and not friends. In other words, she felt guilty and was not trying to hide it.

“Actually, I don’t think you’ve got a reason to worry about that.” The brunette stated on the way to her room, even though she couldn’t help but feel somewhat nervous too — she never had a chance to tell her family about their relationship, so she could imagine how shocked both sides were going to be. “Sure, it might take them some time to accept you, but all you need to do is be yourself. After all...” Goodness, she could feel blood running to her cheeks. “... you’re a great person, you’ve got nothing to be afraid of. And, if you want, I can tell you more about my family.”

❝ Oh, the scar from that stab wound is healing.. good to know. ❞ Sigh leaves lips upon stepping towards the faunus, hand holding hers. ❝ I promise i won't let anything happen to you. ❞

“Adam sure has gotten stronger since... the last time I saw him. I underestimated him.” Or, to be clear, she was not thinking clearly. Her reckless behavior put her and her friend in danger — a fact she was not proud of. However, feeling his warm hand holding hers was enough to keep her mind away from the mistakes she made in the past. Said gesture was met with a warm smile as she tightened her grip just a bit, gently and lovingly. “Well, in that case I’m counting on you, Ichigo. It means a lot to me.”

The short lecture he gave her was not as harsh as she expected, much to the faunus’ surprise. Eyes widened slightly as she looked at Ichigo. She could consider herself an independent individual who knew exactly what she was doing, but, for some reason, being scolded by someone she genuinely cared for actually hit her hard. After all, the brunette must have known that her decision would have an impact on her loved ones and yet she still chose to maintain a cold facade. For the first time in these few months she felt bad and guilty.

“... sometimes people need space.” What a weak excuse, and Blake knew it oh so well. Sure, she did need some time alone, but sometimes she couldn’t help but question her decision. But saying this out loud would mean that she had finally admitted that she was blinded and driven by emotions... but maybe it was time to face the mistakes she made? Intuitively, the female faunus reached out for his hand to let him know that she still needed him — sometimes gestures and eyes could say much more than words. “I was scared. I had to make sure everyone was okay... more or less... and went to take care of things that had been on my mind for too long. I haven’t seen my family for too long and I owe them an apology, and then... then I have to face Adam. Yang lost her arm because of me. I must fix the mess I have caused. I didn’t want to get anyone else involved.”

The words drifted naturally as he kept by the Faunus’s side during their trip. Steady rocks of the boat could be felt and was wholeheartedly welcomed, a comfort as the exhilaration from earlier showdown was finally being drained from his veins. Only idle thoughts about the struggles away were scoped as his current focus. Lazily did he allow his legs to swing while immersing himself in the beautiful backdrop. “And I’ll tell you what. Catch an inkling of complaint like that from me n’ you have full permission to shove my butt off this ledge here and now.”

Despite the seriousness a broad smile was showcased, his loyalties standing their ground of sticking with her through thick and thin. Just as her curious question rose, the mixture of wonder and uncertainty could be picked from her tone. A firm grip was applied to the railing as his attention switched to focus upon Blake instead, those bright eyes establishing respectful contact with her golden irises. “If the reasons that important, there’s just something about you that screams to stick by you! Least, that’s what my gut says whenever I see you hightailing it.”

”If you want one more obvious than that, it’s cause I give a damn about you. A pretty big damn about you as a matter of fact.” The notion was followed with a resolute nod. “Sticking together is what’cha do when you see another in a pinch.”

“ Deal. ”

And thus, it was settled. As simple as that. If she heard him complain at least once, she would continue her journey all by herself and he would not dare follow her any further. However, the young woman couldn’t help but remember that Sun was the one who comforted her when she fled from her teammates. He let her speak, he listened when she needed it and she could not deny that. Most importantly, that was not something she could ignore as, deep inside, she still appreciated what he did for her back then.

I give a damn about you. A pretty big damn about you.

Those words echoed in the faunus’ mind as she glanced at her uninvited companion. Sun did not have to repeat himself. He cared about her and that was something she could not change... or, to be perfectly clear, did not want to change in the first place. To be honest, a part of her was, in fact, touched by his concern. Unfortunately, Blake could not admit it out loud, even though her expression had finally softened a bit, which was, indeed, a sign of progress and acceptance.

“You shouldn’t have.” Surprisingly enough, that was not an accusation, as one could probably think. On the inside, she was starting to understand the importance of support and help, even if she never asked for it in the first place. “I was so sure that no one would find me... apparently, I have yet to work on my stealth skills.” She said with a somewhat bitter chuckle. “But, jokes aside... whether you’ve made the right choice or not remains to be seen. Are you sure you are not going to regret it?”

The young faunus was trying a bit too hard not to smile in response, yet a chuckle still managed to escape her lips as she let out a sigh. It seemed like she had no other choice but to accept the fact that she was not going to get rid of him so easily, not to mention that, as much as she did not want to admit that due to her introverted nature, Sun proved himself as a strong ally and maybe she would need his help later on. Just as he said, he was already on the boat and there was no way back. She yelled at him, she even slapped him, driven by anger, and he still chose to stay. The brunette had two options now: she could either keep complaining or just deal with it.

“Let me guess, nothing can break your determination, right?”

Obviously, that was a rhetorical question, for Blake had already figured out that much. Sun was a surprisingly assertive and stubborn guy. As dorky as he could be, he was not fooling around this time. And that was, in fact, remarkable.

“Just so you know, if you start whining and saying that you want to go home, I will not bother stopping you. But tell me, Sun... why? Why did you make this decision? You barely know me.”

Lengthy frame hovers towards the faunus, arms wrapping around her body in a gentle hug. ❝ I may not fully understand your reasons for running away but.. I missed you so much and i’m glad that you’re safe and okay, just know I couldn’t let you put yourself in danger otherwise.. I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself. ❞

Only now that he held her close she realized how much she missed and needed him. However, the faunus could not say that out loud. Not now. Besides, he knew that anyway... didn’t he? Letting herself be fragile and weak even for a few seconds — she did not have that luxury. She simply could not admit how lonely and scared she actually was. He was not supposed to be here. He was not supposed to follow and find her. Beacon had fallen and people needed all the help they could get, and yet he was HERE. To be perfectly honest, Blake still couldn’t help but feel like her eyes were deceiving her.

“Ichigo...” Conflicted, Blake was at a loss for words. A part of her wanted to cling to the young man and never let go, while another one still believed that he should not have followed her in the first place. “... I’m fine.” And who do you think you’re kidding, Blake? “If I needed someone to come with me, I would’ve just asked. Even if I am glad to see you, it doesn’t change the fact that I... I didn’t want to be found. Do you know that?”

He was the man she LOVED and she couldn’t just tell him to go back home, she didn’t have the heart to do that, and yet she knew it wasn’t right. “You don’t know what you are trying to get yourself into, Ichigo.”

That’s classics, though, so I really should have checked it our earlier, but you have no idea how easy it is to get carried away when there’s a whole lot of interesting books to read.” It was surprising how much an introvert like her could say if books were the subject of a conversation. And thus, this introverted and quiet young woman could not withhold her enthusiasm now. “Hmm... yes, yes, she is, you’re right. But don’t be quick to judge Weiss, she’s not really a bad person. Sure, we had our ups and downs, but at least she is trustworthy... don’t tell her I said that, though. I can tell you more about the main character... if you don’t mind.”
