when I am among the trees, mary oliver (read by amanda palmer)
made by yours truly
When I am among the trees, especially the willows and the honey locust, equally the beech, the oaks and the pines, they give off such hints of gladness. I would almost say that they save me, and daily.
I am so distant from the hope of myself, in which I have goodness, and discernment, and never hurry through the world but walk slowly, and bow often.
Around me the trees stir in their leaves and call out, “Stay awhile.” The light flows from their branches.
And they call again, “It's simple,” they say, “and you too have come into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine.”
My longing knows not of space nor time... Dracula: A Love Tale (dir. Luc Besson), No one has taken anything away…(Marina Tsvetaeva)
In Armenian, when we want to say “damn you” or “go to hell”, we use the expressions "գրողը քեզ տանի" [groxy qez tani] or "գնա գրողի ծոցը" [gna (kori) groxi tsocy], which translate to “may the writer take you away” or “go and get lost in the writer’s embrace” in English. You might wonder, “Who is this writer-person?” and “Why is it considered a curse?”
According to traditional Armenian belief, Grox (the writer) is a spirit who records a person's deeds during their lifetime, determining the purity of their soul. This concept may be linked to Tir, the god of writing and literature in Armenian mythology. In some interpretations, it was believed that anyone whose name Tir wrote in his notebook would die. This is where the curse "may the writer take you" originates.
During the Christian era, Grox was mistakenly represented as a Christian spirit who no longer recorded human deeds but instead determined each person's fate, inscribing it on their foreheads. Over time, Grox came to be depicted as an evil spirit, sometimes identified with Satan. Thus, the curse "get lost in Grox’s embrace," which originally signified death, took on a more negative connotation. However, this was not originally characteristic of Grox in Armenian traditional beliefs.
So, if you want to get creative with your curses, instead of saying “go to hell,” you can use the phrase “get lost in the writer’s embrace”.

It’s not you I’ve lost, but the world.
a kind of loss (Ingeborg Bachmann), variations on the word love (Margaret Atwood), i am the brother of xx (Fleur Jaeggy), don’t go far off, not even for a day (Pablo Neruda), recreation (Audre Lorde), wuthering heights (Emily Brontë), i carry your heart with me (e. e. cummings)
“I wanted very much not to be where I was. In fact part of the trouble seemed to be that where I was wasn’t anywhere at all. My life felt empty and unreal and I was embarrassed about its thinness, the way one might be embarrassed about wearing a stained or threadbare piece of clothing. I felt like I was in danger of vanishing, though at the same time the feelings I had were so raw and overwhelming that I often wished I could find a way of losing myself altogether, perhaps for a few months until the intensity diminished. If I could have put what I was feeling into words the words would have been an infant’s wail: I don’t want to be alone. I want someone to want me. I’m lonely. I’m scared. I need to be loved, to be touched, to be held. It was the sensation of need that frightened me the most, as if I’d lifted the lid on an unappeasable abyss. I stopped eating very much and my hair fell out and lay noticeably on the wooden floor, adding to my disquiet.”

Non-spicy ways to show Intimacy
Intimacy isn't always just the spicy stuff! Here's a few ways to show it through your characters in a few, simple ways...

Whispering jokes to each other
Carefully wiping off a stain from their clothes or face
Taking care of each other when sick or hurt
Hand over the heart/ ear over the heart just to hear it beat
Pressing their thumb over the pulse point for the same thing

Penjing 盆景, also known as penzai 盆栽, is the ancient Chinese art of depicting artistically formed trees, other plants, and landscapes in miniature.
Since at least the 1st century AD, Taoist mysticism has included the recreating of magical sites in miniature to focus and increase the properties found in the full-size sites. There were legends dating from at least the 3rd and 4th centuries of Taoists said to have had the power to shrink whole landscapes down to small vessel size.
The earliest-known graphic dates from 706 AD and it shows two maid servants carrying penjing with miniature trees.

Middle age by Jason Shinder
Igaram, your unwavering loyalty to your homeland will never be forgotten. But more than that, you were my support. You always believed in me, even when I doubted myself. You were like a second father to me ever since I was little. And as I traveled far from home, far from my own father, you felt like home. So I thank you. Not just for your service, but for your love and your protection. I owe you my life.
