Really confounds me how white kids are coddled to the point that when they aren’t accepted to their dream school or face any sort of failure they cannot even COMPREHEND the idea that there’s a POC working twice as hard as them out there somewhere, doing much better work than they are. Light skinned people are worshipped as the epitome of Black beauty because you are physically closer to assimilating into White beauty standards. 

The only reason y'all are given the time of day 99% of the time when you put no effort into your personality, intelligence, or anything else is because you are light skinned and are closer to passing the stupid Eurocentric beauty tests White people have. 

The fact that y'all are okay with that and can sit back and accept that as being normal and good is straight up nasty and demoralizing. 

Dark skinned people—and really anyone who is visibly “brown” and not “dark White"—are put through hell and have to do six times better to get a third of the recognition because of their skin tone, but y'all are chill with that because “that’s how it always is”. 

Take your trashy lite brite ass somewhere else.
