Dear Taylor,

I am writing this to you in hopes of getting your attention and your help on an important global issue. As you know, there have been many things happening around the world, with the #/BlackLivesMatter movement taking force and people raising their voices to bring justice to George Floyd and the rest of the black community suffering from police brutality, discrimination and racism.

America is crying, and has been for a long time. As protests proceed to get more and more violent, with the police and the government growing more brutal and aggressive, we beg you to use your voice to help us. You are Miss Americana, your voice is huge, and you have a huge impact. We all need you right now.

Swifties know where your heart stands. We know you are on our side, we know you are an ally, but right now just knowing it is not enough. We need you to act, we need you to talk about this, because when you talk, people listen. Your black fans deserve your support.

You said you wanted to be more political, use your voice to vouch for the right things. This is the perfect opportunity for you to do so.

Mood.

Everytime someone asks what I was going to do my my 30th Birthday when all had planned for July was Lover Fest.

That said, I know Taylor is doing the right thing and it makes me love and respect her even more.

I love this magical piece of paper, with the picture and words of someone I admire, that holds so many memories. My aunt gave it to me and I had it in my childhood bedroom and then brought along with me to college. Now, 13 years later, I keep it tucked away for safe keeping- but it always brings me back so many good times, hard times, and heartfelt times. Taylor has always been there for me in music.

Don’t you wish you could say thank you to the artist who saved you thousands of dollars on therapy?

Hearing the news of Andrea Swift makes my heart so sad. Nevertheless, she still gives- giving us Loverfest, playing festivals, and not to mention all the long hours- and new songs- and good deeds and things we don’t see.. I can’t imagine what the Swifts are going through but I hope that we all use this year (and always) to promote positivity, love, and kindness. For Taylor. For Andrea- who drove her all over Nashville, and brought Taylors incredible talents to the world, and shared them with us.

Also- Miss Americana drops on Netflix in TEN DAYS. Put it on your calendar, set your alarm. Let’s show @taylorswift how much we love her.

The leather LOVE LOVE LOVE bracelet was some of my first and has continued to be one of my favorite things. To think how far Taylor has come, and how much she has grown. I feel like this bracelet was made for this era- did I find an easter egg from 10 years ago, Taylor?

It is so crazy how this brilliantly talented 14 year old was able to see what she was worth and through all of the snakes and stones (because goodness knows she’s seen too many) she’s continued to be humble, caring, kind, compassionate, vulnerable. That’s amazing.

It has been life saving growing up with you. Every twist and turn in my life, you’ve been going through the same things- and perfectly sewed the words together when I had nothing but brokenness. THANK YOU. Though we have never officially met, I’ve forever been inspired by your pure heart and gentle soul, and hope we get to hang out and bake cookies together.

Happy Friday!! Digging around my childhood room (which also holds life before moving back to my hometown) and I found this old UsWeekly special edition. When I picked it up a couple of these posters fell out and I fell back into a simpler time unfolding them in a rented house after moving to Nashville. Taylor has been part of my story since I was 14 and my aunt let me listen to “Nevermind”. We have been through so much together, but never really met- just so many of the same places at the same time. Hopefully one day we’ll get to connect.
