I’M ALIVE

;; and doing quite well, thank you! Exams are over, I’m officially out of school for like 2 months give or take and I’m back from a 2 week vacation to Disney with my best friend so now that I’m back and have nothing functional taking up my time during the day...

I’m booting up this blog again! Going to be doing some blog maintenance today, maybe installing and tailoring a new theme and definitely sketching a little something something to post later! I’ll post a starter call in an hour or two and reply to threads that I can’t stand to drop. That being said, there’s a lot of threads in my drafts so if I’ve dropped yours, that doesn’t mean that I don’t want to rp! Just shoot me a message if you want to continue our thread and I’ll get right on it! Or like the stater call later today and we can start something brand new and probably more exciting than an introductory thread!

Thank you to those who have stuck around and checked in on me while I was away, it means the world! And I look forward to new interactions this summer!

I love mage/warrior pairings. I love them. So much.

I love the warrior not even hesitating to put themselves between blades and their lover.

I love the mage pulling up a barrier as soon as their lover’s hand moves for the sword.

I love them fretting over one another because of the sucky light armor and the whole charging-into-battle thing.

I love them marveling at each other’s respective strengths, be it not faltering even under the fist of a giant, or throwing balls of fire without breaking a sweat. I love them seeing beauty where others might just see brute force or a looming threat of demons and blood magic. I love them swearing to protect one another to their last blood if they have to.

I love mage/warrior pairings.

It’s an odd thing to learn, being so full of anger, that she has to trust the human members of the Inquisition just as she wants them to trust her. In the Alienage she could be as bitter as she wanted to. Here, she cannot. But some humans make it easier than others.

“I thank you. But I can’t let you get in trouble for my sake.” A curl of her lips, mischievous. “It DOES, but I think that recruit hurts more. My aim is improving.”

“ Believe me friend, whatever they could come up with as punishment for this would pale in comparison to what the templars had me doing. It’s no trouble at all. ”

Before she was Knight-Captain, she was a templar recruit, and her views had gotten her into trouble more times than she cared to mention. One would argue that she was a terrible templar to start with, but one would have to be comparing her to the chantry standard. The past aside though, she was damn good at her job, and to punish her for rightfully ‘reprimanding’ a recruit would be nothing. She gives the other a grin, shaking her head a bit

“ Let’s get that hand looked at. Some ice, at the very least. Good aim is nothing if you’re hand is messed up. ”

“ Would you care to dance? ”

Of course, Thea had come to the Herald’s Rest right when scout Harding was holding her dance lessons, something Thea had been quietly looking forward to. She’d almost forgotten about it entirely, but now was itching to dance. She gave a bow to the other, flashing a grin and holding out her hand. A partner was needed for dancing and Thea had her eyes set on Merryn.

It took us a long time to get detailed information, covering everything from when he first went to the Circle in Starkhaven to which parts of his body hurt the most at any given time.”

While it is just one person, the person in question is a strange one, indeed. Cullen doesn’t expect this to be as smooth as he’d like it to be– Thea can be at times, awkward, while Daniel was predisposed to even more harsh methods than he himself used.

“Consider it a trial run of what we might do with the Circles once this is  all over. We are sure of our decision, and should this yield good results, reform will happen and everything will begin to change. His protection and the public’s nerves being eased is a pleasant side effect.”

“ Wonderful. No pressure or anything. ”

She sighs, shoulders slumping a bit, yet her heart still beats quick in her ears. It was a tall order, and to say she wasn’t intimidated by it would be a lie. Thea reached out a hand, taking the folder from him. It was heavier than she expected, whether that was a good thing or a bad thing was yet to be determined. She tucks the folder under her arm and gives Cullen a small bow, before straightening up, shoulders squared and gaze firm.

“ I can’t give you a solid answer on this right now, but rest assured you’ll have one tomorrow after I’ve read over this.... I can take this with me to read it, right? ”

“ You there, care for a sparring partner? I’m afraid the training dummies    can only put up so much of a fight before it gets old. ”

A jest, she’d been training with inquisition soldiers before, and seeing as they’ve all been trained under the same person, they tended to fight the same way. Most of them anyways. Thea needed a change in pace, preferably before she decided to go and spar with one of the spymaster’s ox-men.

Just because the Inquisitor wasn’t around to reprimand them, didn’t mean that her templar compatriots could start acting like their dear, lovely selves again. She sighs, practically forcing the air from her lungs in a long, controlled exhale, before returning to her seat at the bar. Thea slumps a bit, looking over to the woman beside her and offers a sheepish grin. 

“ Sorry you had to hear that whole -- ” She waves a hand in the air, motioning to the area behind her where she had politely, corrected her comrades.                                                  “ -- commotion. Can I buy you a drink to make up for it? ”

Also I’ve gotten busy on making a blog for the cutie displayed above. Her name is Lyris and she is my floofy haired ice queen. It’s far from done tho so it’ll be a while before I unveil it to the public. But!!! More muses!!!! :D

Indie Canon Divergent Inquisitor written by Peyton NSFW - 18+ - Multiverse / Multiship - Trigger warning

  Meredith leant her weight back to counter the younger woman’s pull, and stepped back once she was to her feet. Even with the exertion, it felt good to have a competitive partner for once in the Seeker’s absence.

“Ah, Markham. I’ve been only once.”

She gave a nod, and cleared her throat before answering.

“Meredith Stannard… former Knight-Commander of Kirkwall.”

Her tone changed slightly, smile fading. it wasn’t often she made it a habit to include her former rank - but it was habit all the same.

She stops, mouth slightly agape. This was the infamous Knight-Commander she’d heard about? Varied reports of red lyrium and full out abuse of power-- the name was a familiar one and not spoken kindly of. Still, despite everything that happened, she was here with the Inquisition, same as Thea. That had to account for something concerning character. The Inquisition was a force of good, therefore any working for the Inquisition was trying to further that goal, right?

Thea blinks, trying desperately to wipe the shock from her face, raising a brow and giving a smile; it’s small but it’s there.

“ Excuse me, that was rude. I thought that you would be... taller. ”

           It’s a struggle to keep her expression clear, brows unfurrowed, not to let slip how deeply this effects her.  Because she still dreams of TEMPLARS killing a girl who was only sixteen in the place of a child even younger yet.  Because she still sees them pointing swords at her when she closes her eyes.  Because hating them is the only way she keeps from hating herself.  { not that it ever works. }

                               “Elves didn’t choose to be elves,” she says quietly.  “Qunari didn’t choose to be qunari.  And — I know now that many don’t truly CHOOSE to become templars.”  Handing children to the Chantry so young and teaching them about her kind — the savage apostate — as though she were a monster.  It makes her sick.  “But many don’t.  I didn’t.  When you look at the way you were born and see people choosing to dedicate themselves to caging you because of it, it’s easier to hate them.  If you don’t, it feels like they must be right, like there must truly be something WRONG with you.”

“ Easier yes, but it’s not -- ”

Ahvir’s words bring her back to Hasmal, a small apprentice at a shrine to Andraste -- Maker why was I cursed, why do you hate me so -- chantry mothers doing nothing to combat her words as if they were truth. 

“ -- right. ”

A pause, she almost appears to deflate. 

“ They are not right. As a whole. What they teach us, what being a    templar has come to mean, none of it is right. ”

More of this is to herself than anyone, a monologue she’s held with herself more times than she cares to remember. No matter how much you build them up, they’re still templars in the end. She’s still a templar in the end. 

“ I’m sorry. I should never have said anything, my sincerest apologies, Inquisitor. ”

mehana doesn’t like templars one bit. but thea curio is a lovely woman and her pencil could not help but move across the paper before her, and despite the bitterness in her heart she still was a CURIOUS and inquisitive person who could not restrain her reluctant interest.

“ You are correct. If someone has, they’ve neglected to inform me.    Although I doubt that there’s anything sketch worthy of me -- perhaps    my arms but that would be it. ”

Not that she didn’t have a healthy self esteem, oh no. Thea had no room for self depreciation in her life. However, she didn’t put herself above others; everyone was on the same level. Which as one can imagine, got her into trouble more times than one. 

“ Do I need to stand still for this? Or is there anything specific you’d like me to do? ”

;; Right so I feel the need to apologize, life’s caught up with me in terms of school work and responsibilities and I think I’m hitting another slump again so I honestly can’t give you a time or date for when I’ll be doing things like replies and threads and such. It’s almost the end of the semester, y’know? I have four more mondays (not counting spring break which is the week after next), a research paper, two sculpture projects, two paintings, four more tests, two of which are exams, a major presentation on my research findings with the teacher from hell and I’m not handling things well over here.

But I’m trying?? Like I finished three drafts today (still got six to go!) so that’s something and I’ll post those soon so that they’re out there but like if you need me, feel free to ask for my skype (mutuals only please)!

Again, sorry about the mess, I’m doing my best to balance things out!
