“Why can’t you just do something about it?” She pleaded. Annie was desperate for her friend to have a good life and it crushed her when Dany made it seem like it wasn’t important. “Is there something that can be done to at least make it slightly better if it can’t completely go away? Is there something I can do? That I can help with?” The situation made her feel powerless and she was desperately clinging on to any hope of fixing it.

Dany shook her head. “Honestly don’t worry about it. It’s been this way since I was a child so it’s nothing new for me. You just happen to see it my mistake on a day we have gym class.” She shrugged. There were many day where she wished she could do something about it. “He’s my only living relative and I have no choice but to stay under his roof.” Dany sighed quietly, throwing her bag onto her back. “Really don’t worry about it. I don’t so neither should you.”

“Well if I can’t help you with your home life then I’m at least going to make sure that all the time that you spend outside of there is as good as possible.” It was the only option that she could currently think of besides the small part of her that screamed for her to call the cops. “Do you have a special time that you need to be home today or any other limits that I need to follow?”

“This is the weirdest day after I’ve had after having sex with someone,” Annie stated. “And no I’m not going to lecture you, just tell you that if you’re planning on taking anymore that I need to know so I can bake more so I actually have some for their original purpose.”

Dany glanced away from her, not wanting to say anymore about her home life, as well as fighting the tears that began to well in her eyes. “It’s… Believe me I’m used to it and nothing is going to change. I can wait this out.”

Annie frowned slightly. “Why would I do that?” Why would Angel assume the only reason she’d ask the other out is because of a bet? “I want to go out with you because I think we’d have a good time together.”

A slight scoff escaped Angel as she nodded slightly in response to Annie’s words. ❝ Right. ❞ She figured the only way to get her to stop whatever she was attempting, was just to let her know she wouldn’t be someone she’d like to go out with. ❝ Look, you seem nice. But I’m not the type of person you should go on a date with, ‘kay? ❞

“And why is that?” Annie questioned. “I might be able to change your mind if you give me a chance and if it will help I’ll even pay if we go somewhere that requires that sort of thing.” She would back off if told to do so but giving excuses wouldn’t on her, she’d only continuing pushing.

“I have a surprise for you that’s going to make you start thinking of me as your best friend if you don’t already, which you definitely should.”

“Then how did you get those bruises?” Annie questioned. She was starting to get slightly frustrated by the other’s denial but knew that letting it show would probably make the situation even worse. “Bruises don’t just appear out of thin air.”

Dany rolled her eyes slightly, shrugging. Honestly she couldn’t find an excuse to tell her. “I just… I just don’t have a good home life alright?” Dany finally got to the point of it. “That’s all I’m going to tell you. This is so normal for me you don’t even know… I barely hurts anymore.”

a little psa that if you feel like your female muses are being neglected always throw them at me because female characters need to be protected at all costs and there shouldn’t be a reason why people are neglecting female characters in the first place because they can be just as developed and complex and well written as male characters okay thanks

She noticed the bruises on the other’s bruises. Annie doubted that they had noticed her. “Who did that?” She forced herself to keep somewhat calm. The question wasn’t what had happened or if someone hurt them, it was who. “You can trust me.” Annie reassured.

It took Dany a moment to realise what she was asking, choosing to dismiss it so she wouldn’t have to answer too many questions. “It’s nothing.” She tugged her jumper down where it lifted slightly. “I know I can trust you… There’s just nothing to tell you.”

“Please don’t lie to me.” Sure there was a possibility that she was wrong but she’d rather come off as too pushy than to not do anything about something that most likely was the result of abuse. “I just want to help.”
