It's kinda sad how Pomni tried to help absolutely everyone in the circus except for Caine... Even Jax, who is an abuser that bullied the others and even sexually abused Gangle in her fantasies (i'm gonna use she/her for Jax), got a hug from Pomni, but Caine? He only got to hear "you're a failure!" from her, and even when he got deleted, Pomni did not gave a fuck about that, she just forgot about his existence just like everyone else did, as if Caine wasn't a sentient AI...
And, i mean, yeah, he did messed up really bad in ep 8, but did Jax not? For all the previous episodes, the only thing that Jax was doing is making everyone's lives worse, and in the end she didn't even tried to become a better person, so how i am still supposed to believe that Jax was the one who deserved a hug more, than Caine, who just genuinely did not understand human emotions but actually tried to get better? (and he did, even through i think that it was pretty rushed, like no i don't believe that he just floated in the void for awhile, searched up some info about the cast on the internet and it magically healed him)
But well, all that leads to an another theme, does Caine actually not understands humans, like Gooseworx and his VA said before? If not, then how did he knew how to torture everyone, especially Jax, if her torture is almost entirely psychological? Before episode 7 came out, i thought that TADC was the type of series, where you can't actually blame anyone, because there weren't any actual villains, you could understand why everyone is acting the way they are, and you couldn't say that anyone from the cast is actually malicious (Jax is an exception, she was an asshole all the way from the pilot), but after episode 7? All of that stuff with Caine messing with everyone's minds, causing people to abstract (even through it wasn't actually shown in the series, Kinger's "Scratch... The first abstraction" and Jax's "You can mess with our minds too, can't you?!" heavily implies that), and him torturing the cast in episode 8 makes me think that he actually IS evil, and it really breaks my heart, Caine from ep 7-ep 8 is def not the Caine that i've always loved... It would be fine for him to be evil, but then you shouldn't have told everyone that he isn't, and you should've made him take actual responsibility for his actions, not just make everyone in the circus forget how he was treating them ohmygooooodddddddddddd
