Something About Metroid Update

I'm still hard at work on Something About Super Metroid! All together this animation is shaping up to be my longest one yet! It should finally be ready near the end of the month!  Since it's a special Something, this video will be a Premiere and there won't be any early access for the whole video but I will share a teaser clip with Patrons before it Premieres.  Thank you guys for all the support and patience! I also just want to take a minute to ask that you guys stay safe out there. Listen to your local authorities and health professionals AND BE NICE TO EACH OTHER.

My  magnum opus, Yoshi’s Island is 2 YEARS OLD today! It’s one of my favorites in the #somethingseries and it has amassed over 22 million views!

With every animation, I make a compilation of shots that ended up on the cutting room floor. So far, I've accumulated roughly 70 seconds of UNUSED shots for the Metroid animation. This animation is getting some extra love. I've been working on the animatic for a month now (normally, animatics take about 2 weeks) and we're really excited with how it's coming along!

I actually started this near the end of 2017, but put it on the backburner to start the first "Something About Monster Hunter World" video. I meant to come back to it, but then the Something Series took off!  I was having a lot of fun with this project so I decided to finally finish it! Consider it my love letter to Ditto (Ditto, along with Sableye, Electivire and Mewtwo are my favorite Pokemon)!  This animation actually marks a pivotal point in my development as an animator. From 2012 up until I started working on this video in 2017, my animation process was relatively slow - but when I began work on the Ditto animatic, the project flowed quickly and seamlessly. After 5 years, I was finally starting to see the hard work pay off. I became more confident in my understanding of animation and my ability as an animator.  Though Ditto had to take a backseat to the #SomethingSeries for a couple of years, I’m glad I found a little time to finish the little silly animation that meant so much to me.  © TerminalMontage 2020

Fun fact:  The Meme Map was so huge I had to break it up into multiple pieces so that Animate CC wouldn't crash. I didn't even use the whole map in the video. Here's a screenshot of the map at 8% of it's full size. Can you spot the references?
