Ross wasn’t being overtly mean but he was distant. He’d rather it stay that way since he felt the tension surround him when he entered a room full of people.
He just stayed quiet for the most part, and this time, he was looking at an album he kept. One of the only things he had left from before the Hulk ever existed. Ross didn’t have any photos of himself as a child, but he kept all his photos of Karen and Betty.
He heard a noise but didn’t look up…he knew who it was.
“….I kept all of Betty’s baby pictures. Bet she hates ‘em…”
He wasn't good at this. He never had been. He didn't know how to help him. Checking in seemed like a reasonable step and he tried to be reasonable when he was able.
"She might not. Have you looked at them with her recently?"
He wasn't the right person to talk to when it came to childhoods. The few baby pictures of Bruce were from when Aunt Susan had visited his parents.
Ross was quiet as he looked down at a photo he had taken of Karen and Betty dressed up for Halloween. Those memories still there….but like a story from someone else.
A dream that was only that…a dream.
“ I haven’t asked her. I…..I don’t want to push her. If she wants to talk with me…..it’s up to her…”
His voice was low and almost….broken. Ross’ whole life existed as regimented and predictable. Too predictable but at least he knew what to expect. Having all that stripped away….
Now he just closed himself off. His mind a safer place than out there in the real world, even with the red monster chained inside him.
Slowly he closed the book and carefully tucked it back in its place in the book shelf. He really did look his age for once.
“…….So….what’s my assignment?”
That’s what he assumed Bruce was here for….to send him in a mission or errand or something. He was at the very bottom of the pecking order now.
“ I am Zenough.”
(*cracks knuckles as he’s about to beat Zen’s ass so hard he won’t be able to sit for a month *)

I have zero interest in Resident Evil but here I am wanting to make a side blog for Zeno where he’s Wesker’s babu that he regularly calls a bitch (but in a “I hate you I hope you die” kind of way.)

I couldn’t give less of a shit about Resident Evil but Zeno needs a serious character arc where he tries to be like his dad, fails, starts growing a humanity and his dad calls him a bitch anyways.
Probably adding salt to the wound by comparing him to his brother ALL THE TIME too.

I gotta blame @gamma-born for getting me hooked on Red Hulk/Thaddeus Ross with Lavinia Van Helsing.
It’s an extremely slow burn but eventually the ice tracks around Ross’ heart and you see him being a teddy bear instead of a machine.
Twitter is acting like the world is going to blow up thanks to the Paramount merger and here I am so fucking sick of this shit.

Again...it wasn't my choice to bring them in but I'm only a link in the chain of command. I'm not asking you to like it...I'm asking you to play nicely... She looked up at him as she walked out from around her desk and sighed. For me?

Sometimes he hated how she knew how to get him, but….he still had a shadow of a smile twitch his lips. He certainly wasn’t cold like before he got to know Lavinia.
Slowly, bit by bit….a slightly more gentle side was emerging. A part of Ross he had buried long ago.
“ I remember you. You were the mutant that sent the X-Force to attack the red giant. I’m almost impressed you’re still alive.
Red Hulk never leaves someone alive who threatens him.”
(*throws Thundra at Domino.*)
Her expression clearly reads 'Oh for fuck's sake' and she rolled her eyes. Thundra...to what do I owe the displeasure of your company? She asked quietly...making a note to text Ross about this later. As for being alive well...just lucky I guess.
In her time, women were the dominant species. She would have marveled at a fellow woman championing over the might of men….but luck was cheap. It was easy. And she didn’t spend years fighting wars and seeing sisters die just to see someone conveniently chase luck.
“ Even luck runs out for the luckiest one there is.”
But Thundra had more pressing concerns. One…her daughter. And two….Red Hulk.
“ Lucky for you I’m not interested in you. I want to find my daughter Lyra. Since you know so much about everything, tell me where I can find Red Hulk.”
A flash of weakness in her bright eyes. A sign that the mighty warrior woman did have a heart.
“….I wouldn’t have my daughter if it wasn’t for him. I told him I’d help him but…I never did. I couldn’t find anything about him in my time.”
A worried look.
“ He’s not dead…is he?”
No he's not dead but he came close a while back. She crossed her arms over her chest. Someone punched his jaw off so he's been recovering. But I'm not telling you anything until I talk to him first. For one thing last time I saw you, you tried to kill me and for another...didn't you steal someone's DNA to have your kid? That's real sketchy Thundra. She didn't name names but she knew, and there was a reason it bothered her. A very personal reason.
That struck a nerve. A big one. Thundra’s back stiffened.
“ We needed the strongest DNA to create the strongest warrior. But I don’t expect someone living in this time to understand.”
Though one part of her had considered giving Lyra a sister….probably from the Red Giant…
Her brow was raised.
“ You threatened him first and he called me for help. He helped me even after I wanted to take his head and mount it on a wall for the Lady Liberators.
I think I earned more trust for him than you.”
Do you hear yourself!? You violated someone's very personhood! You took a part of them, created a child and then you stole that child away from them! That's....that's not even inhumane it's...it's tantamount to assault and kidnapping! Neena's voice raised as she stabbed a finger through the air at the much taller woman. You lost that trust when you fucked off the face of the planet Thundra. I earned Ross's trust by having his back...so if you think I'm gonna help you hurt him again, turn your ass back around and start hiking back to your own time. You don't get to screw with him....or anyone else.
Thundra didn’t flinch. She just stared down at Domino.
“ You do what you must when your people are threatened. I would think a member of the X-gene would understand that more than anyone.”
Even if it meant violating Hulk’s boundaries.
“…..Part of me regrets not giving the red giant a child too. He didn’t sire Lyra but she’s alive because of him. But history doesn’t talk about a red hulk. Only the green hulk and She-Hulk are remembered in the future.”
Which meant that…Thaddeus Ross was forgotten. His very fear of fading away to nothing being his future in Thundra’s time.
She stepped closer to Neena.
“ You don’t order me around. You may be a woman but I won’t hesitate to throw you off a building too.”
