Darkened Sun | Drabble
Following in father's footsteps.
The takeover was planning out rather easily. The head of it all, Terra Andromeda, smirked to himself, fangs splaying from parted lips. How this was turning out so well in his favor! No one questioned his authority, no one questioned his motives. They only acted. No one wanted to anger him, for fear of losing their lives to electric burns.
His optics, cat slit and power starving, quietly scanned over a platoon of Terraptillian soldiers at work, creating a ship for the Stardroids' departure. His malicious grin soon melded away once he felt a hand touch his shoulder. Terra bristled, jumping in surprise, looking over to make sure it wasn't someone he didn't care for.
It was the naive, soon-to-be Doomsday Weapon, Sunstar. His hands were at his sides, albeit shorter than the planet conqueror. Terra gave quite the chuckle of sorts, quiet enough to be laced with silence. What did he want?
"Ahhh... little Sunstar." Even his voice held malice. Gentle, deceptive malice. "My precious, precious prodigy... What do you need of me?" he purred slowly, kneeling down just as smoothly. He was his puppet, and he was an excellently evil puppeteer. He ran his hand along his helmet, the small smirk on his face riddled with excellently crafted trickery. "Tell me... You can confide in me.."
The older Terraptillian shook where he stood. Terra's tone was the same, cooing, friendly tone that would guide him to do evil acts. But what choice did he have, other than to listen? "..T- Terra..." he spoke slowly, earning an inquiring nod from the aforementioned. "I.... I w- would like a w- word with you... If- If it's okay! I- I don't want to b- bother you..."
"Bother me? No, my prodigy... You never bother me..." the prince reassured softly, giving his puppet a nuzzle on the cheek. "Tell me, Sunstar... What is it you wish of me?"
"W- Well.. I... I didn't like h- how you sc- scared all of those p- people... Only b- because they t- touched your l- long hair..."
A sigh.
"Tch.. Listen to me, my little prodigy. You are.. well aware of my intentions, yes?" he asked, the former giving a hasty, rapid nod. "You see... I prefer control over coddling. You.. are an exception, my prodigy. You deserve every piece of affection I can deliver." To add to this, he gently licked his cheek, Sunstar squirming where he stood.
"As for the rest of them... They deserve no special care. They will be crushed under the iron heel of my boot if they so much as question my authority. Fed to the wild beasts that run rampant in the darkest corner of Terraptillus. Dissolved from the inside out from the toxic substance deep below our feet. You are merely... too precious to destroy."
Terra stood slowly, mane blowing in a gentle breeze. He smiled to match the elder's nervous one, stepping back and giving him space.
"I must be off. I have to make sure our departure vessel is built perfectly. Be safe, my little prodigy."
With that, he stepped away and towards construction, leaving little Sunstar alone. He fiddled with his wrist guards, watching him go.
"Prodigy..?"
