I'm really sorry to do this, but for our collective well-being, we've decided to mostly shut down requests for a while. This also means that the old requests we have still in the inbox will be deleted.

Our favorite dinosaur is the Deinonychus! As this request has awakened something in us (dinosaur autism. /srs), we're going to share some facts we know.

The deinonychus was a species of carnivorous dromaeosaur that often consumed small to medium dinosaurs and mammals. They likely had feathers used for warmth and possibly mating displays, though chances are they wouldn't have been able to fly. The sickle-like talons on each of their feet were likely used more often for climbing trees than attacking, as experiments have concluded that their claws, combined with the build of their legs, would not have been that useful for stabbing or slashing. Evidence also suggests that young Deinonychus had different diets than adult deinonychus. Much like komodo dragons, it's suspected that deinonychus also sometimes displayed cannibalistic behavior, though it appears rare and likely only happened to weaker members.
