A huge congratulations to Terror Camp 2025 presenter Kaitlyn Gorsalitz @alongblank on her contributions to the recent identification of the remains of FOUR (!!!!) new Franklin Expedition men, as part of Dr. Douglas Stenton's research team.

Charlie Kelly’s pick for the Modern Armitage playlist was “It Makes No Difference (Concert Version)” by The Band. This is what he said about it: “Rick Danko's vocals are so stunning on that one, a pretty perfect song about longing, that always felt right for Armitage I think it’d be one of his favourites.”

Davechella #24: Armitage

I wasn't expecting this particular band to feature so prominently in any of our characters' lists. (I had to do a deep dive for my own education, which I ended up digging a lot more than I expected.) It's just that as a story for Modern Tommy came together in my head, it featured a central tragedy, and it occured to me that one way to be close to the parents we've lost is by following the trail of breadcrumbs left in our memories of what was playing on the stereo when we were growing up. Our Tommy didn't sell the vinyl when he cleared out his folks' house. He took it all home.

i'm sooo heartened by the edward berger + florian hoffmeister (and dave k!!!!) panel honestly. the stuff they talked about throughout, how much doubt and fear they have during the filmmaking process, how much of it is making it up as you go, the importance of approaching your work as an amateur and a student and to always have curiosity and humility....... and how no matter what happens if you make stuff with integrity, precision and passion it's going to shine through and you'll find the peple who will connect with that...... head in hands shaking crying etc etc. so true besties
