As a group of 5, with 2 weeks to prepare, we have been set a brief to effectively communicate six key learning objectives of the Fire kills initiative:
Keep objects out of the way of doors
Within out campaign we need to cover traditional media (TV, Magazines, Newspapers) as well as more modern, interactive and network based media.
Our presentation will be expected to be around 10 minutes long and we will be judged on out level of innovation, creative thought, and idea development, as well as group coherence in the presentation.
Within the first week we allowed the group time to brainstorm the concept individually; to allow for creative thoughts around the brief to come naturally, and to research any ideas that might be relevant.
Having thought about the brief and talked it over with one other member of the group, the idea of a shocking television advert such as those produced in the UK to promote wearing a seat belt or to discourage drink driving seemed like a good concept to base our traditional campaign on.
An example of this concept would be an advert like this:

We also thought that aiming our campaign towards students would be a great way to incorporate examples relevant to the audience we are presenting it to, and to focus out campaign in more detail to student buildings, and possible student safety issues.
I then went on to create a poster to link with idea using photography and photoshop:
We then met up as a group this week to discuss the ideas, and the ideas for a campaign such as the one above were agreed upon and continued into a concept for interactive media.
Having researched interactive media the week before, it seemed like a good idea to take forward this traditional campaign into an interactive youtube video a little like this one:

through doing this we could highlight the 6 key pieces of information in a way which involves the viewer, and in an effort to catch an audience of students we came up with the idea to have a prize draw of Asda vouchers for the students who complete the video safely.
The video is going to be of a student stuck in a halls of residence building and placed in different scenarios where they must face each of the 6 key fire kills issues.
